OpenCms Enterprise Extensions (OCEE)

What is OpenCms Enterprise Extensions (OCEE)?

Alcakon's OpenCms Enterprise extensions (also called OCEE) are a commercial extension of OpenCms for use in mission-critical installations. Alkacon OCEE adds features to OpenCms that are often required to run OpenCms in a medium or large enterprise, where data consistency, security, and fault tolerance are highly important.

Alkacon's OpenCms Enterprise extensions are available as a licensed software product from Alkacon Software GmbH, the company responsible for most of the open source core OpenCms system development.

OCEE is installed on a standard OpenCms system. OCEE is a binary-only distribution. This means that the source code of the OCEE modules is not available. For use of any of Alkacon's OCEE packages, it is necessary to insert a license key that will be provided by Alkacon software after purchasing an OCEE license from Alkacon.

With Alkacon's LDAP OCEE connector, full integration of existing LDAP user directories with the OpenCms permission system is available. The connected LDAP server is used in full replacement or in addition to the default database user and group management. Full integration of LDAP users and groups allows you to use them for all OpenCms authentication and ACL permission management.

OCEE Packages for OpenCms provided by Alkacon Software

The OCEE Cluster package contains all available OCEE modules. It is intended for installation on a cluster of at least 2 OpenCms servers. It handles communication between servers in the cluster, and optionally also allows replication of the database. Also included are modules for LDAP connectivity, improved data performance and security, as well as disaster recovery options.
