About the manufacturer

Veeam Software is the American company that develops Veeam Data Platform, a backup, recovery and data resilience platform for virtualized, physical, cloud, SaaS and Kubernetes environments. Founded in 2006 by Ratmir Timashev and Andrei Baronov, it is privately held, controlled by Insight Partners since January 2020, and headquartered in Seattle, Washington, with offices in more than 30 countries.

Veeam's technology grew out of image-based backup of virtual machines on VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V and today covers physical servers, workstations, NAS, databases, Kubernetes clusters and SaaS applications such as Microsoft 365 and Salesforce. Licensing revolves around the Veeam Universal License, portable across workloads, and copies can be written to immutable object storage, with recoverability verification and malware scanning over data already protected.

Veeam's product lines:

  • Veeam Data Platform — self-managed backup, replication and recovery platform, in the Foundation, Advanced, Premium and Essentials editions, the last of these sized for operations of up to 50 workloads.
  • Veeam Data Cloud — backup as a service run by Veeam on Microsoft Azure, with storage included, for Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Salesforce, Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.
  • Veeam Data Cloud Vault — managed cloud storage, immutable by default and logically isolated, used as the off-site target for Veeam Data Platform backups.
  • Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 — self-managed protection for Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business and Microsoft Teams, with the storage target chosen by the customer.
  • Veeam Kasten — backup and mobility for Kubernetes applications, licensed per worker node.
  • Veeam ONE and Veeam Recovery Orchestrator — monitoring of the backup infrastructure and orchestration of recovery plans with documentation for audit.
  • Veeam DataAI Command Platform — a governance, security and compliance layer for data and AI agents, built the Securiti AI acquisition completed in December 2025.

Veeam also absorbed Kasten in 2020 and Coveware in 2024, whose cyber-extortion incident response technology became the Recon Scanner embedded in Veeam Data Platform. According to the IDC Semiannual Software Tracker for the second half of 2025, Veeam leads the global data protection software market with 13.6% share. The company reports more than 550,000 customers worldwide, including 82% of the Fortune 500. For customers with data residency requirements, Veeam Data Cloud Vault offers the Brazil South region in the Foundation and Advanced editions.

OSB Software is an official Veeam Software partner in Brazil and supplies 100% genuine licenses across the portfolio, with Brazilian invoicing, contracting in Portuguese and specialist support in sizing the licensing.
