What is 3Delight?

With 3Delight, they rebuilt the user experience in 3Delight to Maya from scratch. Thanks to the new features introduced in 3Delight, they were able to remove most of the time-consuming parameters and offer a pleasant and productive experience for the artist. From advanced features with a well-defined user interface to simple yet powerful materials, 3Delight for Maya stands out as a refreshing shift from existing solutions.

Highlights

Expressive materials

Introduce simple and powerful OSL-based materials and utility shaders. All materials are physically plausible and interact predictably with all light sources. Absence of samples and other technical parameters puts the focus on visual development.

Cloud rendering

Select "3Delight Cloud" in Rendering Settings and render your image in the cloud. Use Maya's "Render-r 3DelightCloud" command to render sequences in the cloud as well. All that is needed is a registered user account with rendering credits with the 3Delight Cloud rendering service.

Multi-Light Technology

Output lights on the different layers of the image. Group them using sets or using Maya's Light Editor. Using light layers as a fundamental composition element helps achieve enhanced realism. There is no speed penalty when using this feature.

CryptoMatte Integration

A one-click solution for cryptomatte export is provided as a simple means of exporting mattes. Select the desired IDs (Object/Shader/Scene Path) and set the output to EXR.

Glowing lights

Use the novel "incandescence lights" to drive the glowing of scene objects that are not lights in the first place. Group objects using a single glowlight and control their light emission at once. The glowing light can be used like any other light with features like "light binding" and our multi-light technology.

Stereo rendering

Process two files at the same time. This saves scene analysis time and enables a more efficient rendering pipeline.
