What is ABACUS Designer?

Customize a metamodel that perfectly suits your business in minutes. With ABACUS Designer, you can create your own structures from existing libraries or from scratch. Adapt a structure from patterns provided in the library, such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, Zachman, DoDAF, etc., using simple "right-click" and "drag-and-drop" commands. Test and modify them and share them with other users.

By managing data within ABACUS's flexible XML-based hierarchical database repository, architects can adapt and restructure data to change business conditions and adopt new frameworks as needed.

ABACUS Designer gives architects control over the structures and metamodels they use on a daily basis and the ability to customize and adjust them as business evolves.

Most professionals find that the simplest approach when adapting a metmodel is to select from the more than 100 standards available in ABACUS libraries, such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, BMM, BPMN, BIAN, ITIL, Zachman and DODAF. They can be adapted using simple "right-click" and "drag and drop" commands.

For example, a corporate architect who wants to create a hybrid metamodel can make this up by incorporating OMG BMM at the 'top'; the BPMN OMGs in the 'middle'; Open Group TOGAF at the bottom; and the OGC P3O on the "side". Using ABACUS Designer, this can be done internally, allowing you to avoid the expense and delay of outsourcing.

ABACUS is the only enterprise architecture tool that offers this powerful feature, which is enabled by graphics database technology. Chart databases are also optimized for storing and processing large volumes of complex data and enabling the search, discovery, and analysis of large networks. Modeling tools that rely only on a relational database management system (RDBMS) backend provide limited and "rigid" metamodel options for users.
