What is ABCpdf .NET?

The ABCpdf .NET PDF library is a .NET component for reading, writing, converting, and dynamically manipulating Adobe PDF documents. Supporting a wide range of image and document formats and featuring three different html-to-PDF conversion mechanisms.

Direct to PDF

Amazing performance

  • ABCpdf does not use print drivers and is directed to PDF, it is incredibly fast.
  • ABCpdf incorporates virtually every feature you'll likely need in a PDF library.
  • However, care was taken not to overload the objects to keep them simple, elegant and easy to use.

Productive in ten minutes

  • ABCpdf is a simple and powerful PDF library for the Microsoft .NET Framework.
  • It is designed so that you can accelerate and be productive in ten minutes.
  • However, if you want a low-level thin control, you can also have this with ABCpdf.

Fully multithread

  • Because it is fully multithreaded, you can use it flexibly in any .NET - C#, ASPX, VB environment; and .NET Enterprise Services, COM+ or MTS; and classic ASP
  • ABCpdf is extensively tested in a wide variety of high-performance multithreaded environments.

Key features of ABCpdf .NET

Many image formats

  • ABCpdf .NET supports a wide range of image formats, including JPEG, GIF, TIFF, BMP, PNG, EXIF, WMF, EMF, JPEG 2000, Photoshop PSD and PSB, PS, EPS, XPS, WPF, SVG and SWF (Flash). It supports multiple frames so you can convert fax TIFFs from multiple CCITT or group pages into PDF documents. And vice versa.
  • It supports unusual file types, such as TIFFs, with JPEG, OJPEG, and HDR content. If you want to import PSD documents of exact colors while preserving the original sections, you will be done. Or CMYK TIFF images in 16-bit with alpha.
  • You may not need these features right now, but the beauty is that you can be sure that no matter what images you find, you can be sure that ABCpdf .NET is a PDF library that will support them.

Many document formats

  • Full support for encapsulated PostScript (EPS), XML Paper Specification (XPS), and Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) documents.
  • Use simple C# code to convert your PDF documents into XPS or EPS. Convert your XPS or EPS documents to PDF. Our conversion routines are carefully written to preserve the natural structure of source documents whenever possible - this means preserving color spaces and preserving or converting embedded fonts.
  • ABCpdf .NET not only supports PDF, HTML, and Rich Text Format (RTF) natively, but also links to helper applications to support a wide variety of other document formats. Formats such as Microsoft Word (.doc), Microsoft Excel (.xls), PowerPoint (.ppt), WordPerfect (.wpd), Lotus 1-2-3 (.wk1), and AutoCAD (.dxf).

Sophisticated PDF rendering

  • Render your PDFs to a wide range of file types in a variety of spaces and color depths. Control over sophisticated options such as halftones, overprinting, and color-like ings. 3D annotation and support for 3D PDF elements.
  • Support for PDF printing using a variety of techniques. This includes useful and sophisticated features, such as embedding fonts for automatic printer transfer.
  • A partner in this is the flattening of transparency, which is a technology that allows you to remove transparency from your documents, keeping intact the vector nature of the PDF.
  • Similarly, there are PDF library APIs for vectorizing fonts that convert fonts into vector outlines - great if you want to make sure people don't copy text from your documents.

Complete graphic resources

  • ABCpdf .NET supports OpenType, TrueType, and Type 1 fonts. You can reference the source while keeping PDF documents lightweight for web distribution. Or, to ensure playback fidelity, you can embed fonts in your PDFs.
  • You can apply transformations such as rotation, magnification, tilt, and translation. This means you can draw text, images and graphics, all with just a few simple commands. Apply effects such as blur to projected shadows or auto levels for image optimization.
  • There are many text settings to allow precise control of how text is displayed and organized. Paragraph indentation, kerning and tracing, word spacing, line spacing, paragraph spacing, and horizontal justification are just some of the settings you can control.

Document-level support

  • ABCpdf .NET enables a wide variety of PDF manipulation, from simple read and save operations to more complex operations such as drawing resized or rotated content from one PDF to another.
  • It supports layer and page insertion. Add graphics to any layer of your page. Lines, polygons, ovais, pies, arrows and text just to name a few. In RGB, CMYK, Lab and exact colors in a variety of color depths.
  • Insert pages anywhere in your document. Attach documents and reorder pages. Draw pages from one document to another. Sew and merge PDFs.
  • This PDF library provides low-level optimized C# access to the page content stream for highly flexible operations involving drawing commands.

Unicode and Complex Language Support

  • Abcpdf. NET supports Unicode and foreign languages. Reference sources in the relevant foreign language pack or embed Unicode fonts to ensure playback fidelity on any platform.
  • Draw text horizontally or vertically and quickly subset large CJK fonts with minimal memory usage and impact on server load.
  • The two-way layout and contextual bandages are supported, as needed, for Hebrew and Arabic.
  • All this simply accessible via text with various styles; support threading text boxes to allow you to easily and automatically flow text from one area to another using simple C# code.

System Requirements

  • You can run ABCpdf .NET on all versions of Windows since Windows XP.
  • You need .NET 4.0. It is recommended that your machine have Internet Explorer 9 or later installed.
  • If you are rendering 3D PDFs, you will need graphics drivers that are compatible with OpenGL version 3.1
