Addictive Trigger

The new system uses FFT analysis to accurately identify drum sounds, even if there is too much microphone noise or background noise in the source material. It's fast, accurate and we think it will change the way you work with live recorded drums.

What is Addictive Trigger?

Accurate and intelligent

During the addictive trigger research phase, users around the world reported that accurate hit detection is absolutely critical when using drum replacement plug-ins. Unfortunately, existing drive technologies tend to have deficiencies that require many manual adjustments and corrections.

With effort to create better products than what is currently available and a whole new method for drum beat detection, called Audio Fingerprint, has been created. The new system uses FFT analysis to accurately identify drum sounds, even if there is too much microphone noise or background noise in the source material. It's fast, accurate and we think it will change the way you work with live recorded drums.

What is audio fingerprinting?

Typical drum replacement tools rely on rudimentary filtering and transient detection, resulting in many false triggers and missed hits. Audio fingerprinting solves this problem using a new FFT-based matching system. It is so accurate that it usually has no problem detecting slightly touched ghost notes from background noise, while simultaneously rejecting microphone bleed and other unwanted sounds.

In addition to detecting low-level phantom notes with great accuracy, our audio fingerprint system can also differentiate between different types of strokes that are played at similar speeds (e.g., side beats and open horns). This allows addictive trigger to reproduce the correct joints of the samples, even if the source material received has different types of battery beats with similar peak levels.

Super start. Super fast.

Setting and adjusting detection parameters can be a painfully tedious job. SuperStart eliminates the need to do this by listening to the source material and automatically providing appropriate detection settings. In most cases, it's all you need to get accurate battery detection on your tracks. This allows you to spend more of your time on creative things like diaising the perfect drum sounds.

Super smart automatic hit detection

After inserting addictive trigger into an audio track, simply click SuperStart and start playback in the host software. The addictive trigger listens to your track for several seconds, analyzes the incoming hits, and automatically sets several different parameters based on the source material. In most cases, it's all you need to do to make accurate detection of occurrences happen on your track.

World-class one sits ready for use

In addition to the intelligent detection and workflow features, addictive trigger comes with tons of fantastic and easily adjustable presets designed specifically for drum replacement. Selected from the award-winning Addictive Drums library, these sounds are recorded in world-class studios and impossible to book, such as Fairfax Recording (formerly known as Sound City) and United Recording (formerly Ocean Way) and use some of the best equipment and instruments heard more experienced in the business. Even if you already have cool drums and a great studio, we think you'll still find a lot of inspiration and benefit from having these world-class sounds at your fingertips.

A complete solution

Addictive Trigger works on its own and requires no additional software to provide world-class results. Just start the plugin and you're ready to start. Accurate detection and excellent sounds are included in the box.

Play well with other drum software

Addictive Trigger also supports the most popular third-party drum instruments. You can easily drag and drop properly formatted MIDI data from addictive trigger to your favorite instrument and get to work right away.
