What is AdSec?

Analysis and design of sections under load

AdSec demonstrates how sections respond to combined axial load and fliter moments. It can analyze sections of concrete, steel and fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) and composite sections.

AdSec is ideal for tasks such as analyzing a bridge beam to lock under load, designing a composite mega column, checking a pre-tensioned floor, or finding the capacity of a stack. AdSec is also valuable in renovation projects, allowing engineers to calculate the capacity of existing beams and columns and showing how much improvement can be achieved by strengthening FRP or adding extra concrete to the section.

How AdSec works

Used by engineers around the world, AdSec is one of the leading analysis programs for loaded structural sections.

Input: AdSec creates reinforced and composite sections using intuitive template wizards and DXF import to create unique, composite sections in any way and reinforcement arrangement. The reinforcement can be with or without pretension and use a variety of materials, including steel, GRP and carbon fiber. AdSec can combine these sections to allow the analysis of composite structures.

Analysis: AdSec analyzes sections for maintenance and final limit states under uniaxial and biaxiaal loads. It calculates capabilities, section stiffness, crack widths, stress and strain values using user-defined nonlinear materials and code for a variety of international design codes.

Output: AdSec will tell you if your section works or fails with loads, what are the stresses and deformations in the section and reinforcement, the widths of the cracks (where the codes allow), the capacity of the section, and the stiffness of the loaded section.

Key Features and Benefits

1.     Calculates crack capacities and widths for reinforced concrete sections

2.     Analysis using Eurocodes and many other international design standards

3.     Use locked stresses and phased analysis for composite sections
