Alceste software treats all types of text, typed with a word processing program, a scanner or a speech recognition system.
Alceste is a textual data analysis software developed by the Society of "Image", together with the National Council for Scientific Research (CNRS). It has been refined over the years and thanks to the observations that stem from the multiple applications made since 1986, when Image was created. Alceste proceeds to a first analysis of the vocabulary of a corpus, and makes the dictionary of these words with their roots and frequencies.
It then cuts the text into homogeneous segments containing a sufficient number of words, and proceeds to a classification of those segments, detecting stronger oppositions. This method allows to extract classes of meanings, composed of more specific words and phrases, the remaining classes represent the main ideas and themes of the corpus. The overall results, ordered according to their relevance, with various graphical representations and analysis reports, allow the user an easy and effective interpretation. Today, Alceste is known and recognized as a high-performance tool, a compact and user-friendly device, essential for decision making and analysis. It handles any type of text in multiple languages and has many applications in different fields.
Alceste 2015 puts Alceste at the forefront of textual data analysis software. The 2015 edition receives many new graphic results, sliding d'icônes. It describes, sorts and automatically synthesizes a text: this is alceste's main objective.
The method used:
The method used by Alceste is a descending hierarchical classification. This is the basis of alceste software. The 2012 edition of Alceste uses, in addition to the descending classification, two other classifications: the ascending classification and the thematic classification (manually operated). The user can use one or more of these applications to optimize the interpretation of the data.
Features:
Alceste software treats all types of text, typed with a word processing program, a scanner or a speech recognition system. Alceste is equipped with a panoramic screen that synthesizes the overall results allowing you to scan and have an overview of the results, to compare, select, edit, enlarge, export different results to a final report writing. A graphical factor analysis (FA) module allows users to view, filter, refine, confirm and interpret key results.
