What is Altair Activate?

Altair Activate software is an open and flexible tool for quickly modeling and simulating products such as multidisciplinary systems in the form of 1D models (expressed in physical or signal-based block diagrams), optionally coupled to 3D models.

Take advantage of a flexible spectrum of simulations throughout your development cycle - from the initial design of the concept (with models involving more abstraction and typically shorter simulations) to the later detailed design (with less model abstraction and longer simulations).

Why did Altair activate?

Holistic Assessment

Simulate the performance of your entire product, including as a system system, to better evaluate overall behavior and interactions between components and subsystems.

Better perception, faster

Gain a greater understanding of your product's performance by incorporating multidisciplinary aspects into system simulations (e.g., mechanical and electrical; fluids and structures; electromagnetic and thermal effects), including 1D and 3D model coupling.

Open and flexible

Powerful built-in functionality is further enhanced by the use of open standards such as Modelica and FMU. Complements and works well with Altair's extensive set of engineering simulation software (e.g. MotionSolve, Flux, FEKO)

Altair Activate Features

1D system simulation

System-level simulation allows you to evaluate the performance of the complete product, not just a part of the product.

Block Diagrams; Control System Design

Providing a natural modeling approach to the development of current intelligent systems, involving sensors, actuators, feedback and internal logic.

Mix physical and signal-based modeling on the same diagram

Harnessing the power of predefined Modelica libraries to model common mechanical, electrical, and thermal physical components.

Typically much faster than 3D simulations

Relying on higher levels of model abstraction allows you to gain more information about product performance earlier (that is, closer to the Concept Design stage) and a quick exploration of the design.

Connections with other Altair tools

Activation of true simulation of multidisciplinary systems via exchange or co-simulation of models with MotionSolve for dynamics of multiple controlled bodies, with Flux for controlled engine dynamics models.

Support for functional mockup interface (IMF)

The inclusion of functional model units (FMU) allows the exchange of models or co-simulation connections with non-Altair tools, which also support the IMF standard.
