Amphyon enables the automatic optimization of the workpiece orientation as well as a simulation of the construction process and the adaptation of the process parameters in order to achieve higher part quality and higher process stability. It was created to replace experimentally determined construction strategies with simulation-aided process strategies to save costs, time, and energy in the development of additively manufactured components. With the integration of fast numerical process analysis and simulations into the process chain, surface quality and shape accuracy can be increased without the need for further user actions. Amphyon consists of several modules that support the pre-processing steps and enhance the process itself.
There are three main applications that Amphyon and its modules focus on: helping designers learn how to deal with ML and its problems, helping researchers study process physics by numerical simulation, and helping production optimize pre-processing and building data in a few steps.
