Multiple input methods - Apex Sketch is the culmination of everything, with all features grouped into a single solution. There are no more separate programs to handle your computer or mobile design needs. Simply choose your method and start drawing!

Input methods:

Keyboard and mouse - Existing users will be happy to know that all familiar drawing commands they've gotten used to! New users will love the intuitive approach to drawing lines, angles, and curves to create their sketches. Enter your measurements in Engineering (decimal feet) or Architecture (feet and inches), to complete your plans in a matter of minutes.

Active Pen - Apex Sketch lets you draw directly on your Tablet PC screen, just as you would with pencil and paper. In fact, many users claim that it is better than paper due to the simple "move and edit" approach to creating rows. No more counting grid squares or pre-planning on where to start. Apply paint quickly to every wall/measure you find in the field and let Apex Sketch take care of the rest.

Touch - If your tablet doesn't support a pen or you simply prefer the touch features of your mobile device, Apex Sketch offers a special touch panel that lets you tap the distance and direction in the blink of an eye. If you're familiar with any of the MobileSketch products for iOS or Android, you'll find a very familiar touch process for drawing sketches.

DISTO Laser Meter - If you want the best field drawing solution, combine all the above drawing input methods with the power of a BLUETOOTH DISTO laser meter! After pairing the tablet with DISTO, you can wirelessly transfer your measurements directly to Apex Sketch and (depending on the DISTO model) update existing lines or specify the direction in which you want to draw your lines directly from your DISTO device. No other designer (including previous versions) does this better or faster!

Draw Anywhere's new paradigm - In most cases, users hate change; but you'll love this one. For years, customers have been asking for more flexible drawing methods, and Apex Sketch provides just that. Combined with the new area detection algorithms, this new design approach will turn many heads!

Draw Anywhere Benefits:

• No more defining first - defining your area first (especially from a mobile point of view) was an old limitation of previous apps that forced you to decide the best area to draw first, which wasn't always the easiest thing to do. This allows you to draw all the lines of your areas and define them when you are ready.
• Draw anywhere, anytime - Apex Sketch's new drawing paradigm lets you grab your pen and draw new lines elsewhere on your drawing door whenever you want. Now, when you find difficult parts of your sketch (in the field or on your desk) or want to draw another area completely - it's as simple as taking your pen (cursor) and putting it down where you want to draw.

Intuitive area definition - Apex Sketch presents several ways to define shapes and areas designed to match your specific workflow, preferences, and/or requirements.

Area definition options:

• Drag and drop - just drop the area setting of your choice in any closed shape and it will be calculated and set automatically. It just doesn't get any easier than that!
• Additive Area Definition - This new area definition method allows you to draw all your areas at once and define each area by clicking on one or more closed shapes that "add" them to create a single defined area. Thanks to the new area detection algorithms, you no longer need to draw entire shapes, clone or copy existing areas.
• Automatic Closed Area Detection - If you prefer to define areas as they are completed, you can set Apex Sketch to request an Area Definition dialog box whenever a closed shape is detected.

Georeference - Apex Sketch features the ability to identify and store georeference information in the Apex sketch. Users can now record this geographic reference information when the building sketch file is created or when existing sketch files are edited.
