What is AppCode?

AppCode is an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for Swift, Objective-C, C, C++ and JavaScript development built on the JetBrains' IntelliJ IDEA platform.

AppCode 2016.1 brings improvements to the Swift analyzer, code folding for Swift statements, as well as a number of improvements in C++ support experience, CocoaPods integration and general IDE.

Smart code assistance

Smart Editor: Fast code with an IDE that analyzes the context and understands your project. Benefit more types of code completion and formatting than you can imagine.

Refactoring and generation code: Focus on important tasks and let AppCode take the routine by far: the simple property declaration to ing complex pieces of code through living models.

Code analysis: Write clean and correct code. Static analysis for all supported languages will highlight every error or warning and suggest quick right-hand solutions as you type.

Editor customization: Choose one of the predefined UI themes or customize them to meet your personal needs. Use one of the standard keyboard maps or make your own easily.

Built-in tools and integrations

Run & debug: Run and debug your projects easily. Use the debugger UI with LLDB as the backend. AppCode will show values well in the editor and help you evaluate expressions.

Unit testing: Supports OCUnit, XCTest, Google Test and Kiwi test frameworks out of the box and provides a built-in test runner along with a powerful interface to investigate test results. It can even generate code for you as you write tests.

Version control: AppCode provides a first-class unified interface for the most popular VCS, including Subversion, Git, GitHub, Mercurial, CVS, Perforce, and TFS. And if you forget to add your project to version control, it will save changes in the built-in local history.

Integrations: Benefit rich integration with third-party tools in AppCode, including CocoaPods, Reveal, and more.

Xcode Support: Compatible with the latest 7.x Xcode, so just open the project in AppCode and start working on it, there are additional actions needed.

Plugins: The IntelliJ Platform provides AppCode with 50+ IDE plugins of a different nature, including support for additional VCS, integration with different tools and frameworks, and editor enhancements such as Vim emulation. Install preferred plugins simply using Plugin Manager.

Objective-C: AppCode supports all the latest additions to Objective-C, definitions, and generic classes.

C++: AppCode natively supports C and C++, including C++ 11, libc++ and Boost. Take advantage of code completion, all navigation features and coding features such as refactoring, finding uses, and generating code.

Web & cross-platform: AppCode fully supports JavaScript, XML, HTML, CSS and XPath, including all code editing and transformation features such as syntax highlighting, analysis, completion, navigation, and refactoring. All Emmet features are also supported in AppCode.
