KISTERS Automation Server (KAS) is a server-based solution for automated batch processing of 3D data.

KISTERS Automation Server can be integrated into any leading system, such as PDM or SAP systems.

Standard tasks: 3D conversion and visualization image generation

KISTERS Automation Server covers a wide spectrum of usage scenarios. Conversions controlled by the PDM system of native 3D CAD assemblies to the 3DViewStation internal 3DVS format, to 3D-PDF or STEP form the basis of its functionality. And KISTERS Automation Server processes all tasks with the same high speed and reliability that we expect from 3DViewStation.

Using thumbnails as preview images to list results in PLM systems makes much more sense than rendering entire 3D models. These preview images are generated seamlessly as a kisters automation server background task.

Special: virtual products and extraction of structures

Often, a PLM system manages parts of an assembly in a neutral or native format, while the structure is managed virtually and is therefore available only in the database. KISTERS Automation Server provides a solution to this approach by positioning and aligning all the necessary components on the server and rendering the resulting structure. The result can be exported in STEP, JT or 3D PDF format.

Sometimes, however, the product structure of an incoming assembly needs to be automatically analyzed and created as a native version in the PDM system. It is not a problem for KISTERS Automation Server: A specialized function converts and returns the structure of a CAD assembly in XML format.
