What is AutoPrice?

AutoPrice provides sophisticated links of QuarkXPress or Adobe InDesign documents to any external database of information. As the name implies, AutoPrice is great for price updates in catalogs, retail brochures, and similar publications, but it's also perfect for phone book updates, time tables, or any other type of information that is referenced by a "key value" as product number (SKU).

AutoPrice works by allowing the user to establish "placeholders" within new or existing QuarkXPress or InDesign documents that are linked to a database record. Assign a placeholder highlighting the text you want linked to your database and specify a unique identifier (part #, SKU) that is used to find a specific database record. For products that have different price ranges, AutoPrice allows you to specify additional search criteria for differentiating variations.

Unlike other software products that require linking to a specific text box, it allows linking to any range of text anywhere in a document. This means you don't need to restructure your layout to accommodate the links, which makes design and editing easier.

Each placeholder appears as a blue underscore that floats with text as you make changes. Placeholders are edited and styled as normal text, and once assigned, they are saved with the document so that future updates are easy.
