What is AVL CRUISE M?

AVL CRUISE M is a multidisciplinary system simulation solution that supports model-based development using high-quality real-time models from domains such as engine, flow, after-treatment, transmission, electrical and hydraulic system.

This numerical solver is adapted for efficient simulation of multiphase systems and is combined with a highly flexible, multi-level modeling approach. AVL CRUISE M interfaced with third-party tools through the standard Functional Mock-up Interface (FMI).

The AVL CRUISE M is a highly convenient and versatile tool, applicable throughout the development process, bringing the advantages of multiphase system simulation closer to you.

Scope of the business:

Development of power train systems: AVL develops and improves all types of power train systems and is a competent partner in the automotive and engine industry. In addition, AVL develops and markets the simulation methods necessary for development work.

Engine instrumentation and test systems: The products of this business area comprise all the instruments and systems necessary for the testing of engines and vehicles.

Advanced simulation technologies: The simulation software developed is focused on the design and optimization of power train systems and covers all phases of the development process.

Key features and benefits

  • Reuse of high-quality models throughout the development process
  • Model accuracy is widely validated with AVL test data
  • Engine models solved in real-time crank angle for the development of engine control strategies
  • Optimize test table usage with the ability to change on-the-fly parameters
  • Support component development by providing real load profiles
  • Note the impact of component changes on early stages in vehicle performance using holistic models

Industrial Applications

Typical AVL CRUISE M applications are design and potential evaluation of power train concepts, system layout analysis, energy flow balance, and energy management system optimization. The AVL CRUISE M perfectly supports control functions and strategy development tasks, Engine Control Unit (ECU) calibration in HiL systems and component testing in test systems.
