Babel Licensing

What is Babel Licensing?

Babel Licensing is  a licensing system that allows you to license .NET Framework applications and components. It uses asymmetric cryptographic algorithms, which means that it is not possible to reverse engineer license keys to create a key generator. In addition, it integrates with Babel  Obfuscator  to provide key obfuscation and protection capabilities.

Licensing features

• XML license: digitally signed XML license files
• Sequence license: licenses and series of encoded series
• Feature-based licenses: Additional product information can be incorporated into the license, allowing you to unlock specific software features
• License .NET applications and components: You can create licenses for applications and software components and restrict their use at runtime or design
• Trial licenses: Set the number of days after which the license expires. You can limit the number of instances running, the total number of runs, or the time of use
• Locked hardware licenses: You can block the license for specific hardware components such as Ethernet cards, hard disk, CPU, motherboard, BIOS, and computer name
• Virtual machine detection: Can prevent application from running on a virtual machine or detect the context of runtime and design time
• Blocked domain: You can restrict the license to a specified domain name
• License watermarks: License can embed custom data through license fields
• Embedded user information: You can embed licensee information, such as name, email, and company name

License Restrictions

With Babel Licensing, you can create different license usage restrictions. This allows you to create trial licenses or hardware-blocked licenses by choosing from several options. Here are all available licensing restrictions:

Common Restrictions

• Kind

Restricts the license to a specific set of types or namespace.

• Beta

Set a time limit for the beta period.

• Version

Links the license to a specific assembly version.

Evaluation restrictions

• Expiration date

Limits application usage to a set date.

• Test days

Sets the number of days an application can run before the license expires.

• Run instances

Restrict the number of application instances that can run concurrently on a machine.

• Time of use

Allow the application to run for a set period.

Hardware restrictions

• Computer name

Links the application to a specific computer name.

Restricts the software to the installed CPU identifier.

• Ethernet card

Check the MAC address of the Ethernet card.

• Hard disk

Links the application to the serial number of the hard disk.

• BIOS

Restricts use to a specific BIOS.

Restricts the use of an assembly in the Visual Studio designer.

System requirements

• Any 32/64-bit version of Windows that supports at least Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2. It can be Windows 10, Windows Server 2012 and later, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8.x
