Step-by-step instructions for Windows

  • Make sure you're using the latest version of Bank2QBO. Download it from the Bank2QBO download page. Start Bank2QBO and select a transaction file (can be QBO file, OFX file, QFX file, QIF file, or PDF file).
  • Review transactions before conversion, make sure the dates are correct, if the year is correct, if deposits and cashouts are in the correct places.
  • Set the INTU number. bid to match your bank or use a default value. InTU. IDB defines the bank label shown during import. It has to be from the bank allowed. You can try to locate your bank, make sure that the bank you choose is compatible with the type of account you are converting to. Keep the default value if your bank is not listed (3000-Wells Fargo or any bank allowed).
  • Set the account ID (number) and account type. The account ID must have all the digits of the Quickbooks. For multiple accounts, use a different account ID for each account.
  • The currency must be USD, even for non-USD accounts, for the Quickbooks edition in the US. For the Canadian edition, you can use USD and CAD. And for the UK edition, the GBP currency must be set. If you have a value other than USD, you need to use another converter, for example, the Bank2IIF converter, which has no currency and can import into the non-USD account. Bank2IIF converts to IIF format instead of the QBO format. You can also set Final Balance, Bank ID, Agency ID, if your accounting software requires.
  • Click the 'Convert' button to create a QBO file.
  • Confirm the name and location of the file.
  • Import QBO file created for Quickbooks
  • Now that the QBO file has been created, switch to Quickbooks and import the created QBO file. Before you import a QBO file, make sure that the account you need to import does not have the yellow warning icon. Click 'Lists' - 'Account charts'.
  • If you have the icon, it means that the account is linked online to direct download. You need to disconnect first to import a QBO file.
    • To disconnect, right-click 'Edit account'.
  • Then click 'Bank feed settings' and 'Turn off all online services' first if necessary. Make sure there is no yellow icon after the change. After you disconnect the account from the online services, you can import a QBO file.
  • To import a QBO file, select 'File' - 'Utilities' - 'Import' - 'Web Connect Files', select the created QBO file.
  • Select an existing account to import transactions. Check the bank label, Account type, Account number to select the correct account in Quickbooks. Then click the 'Continue' button.
  • Now your data is imported.
  • Click 'Transaction list' to review transactions. Assign vendor records and expense/revenue accounts before adding transactions to the record.
  • The 'Downloaded as' column shows the names of the beneficiaries of the QBO file.
  • Click 'Show bank note' to see the description of the Bank note column.
  • After the records and vendor account are defined, you can add transactions to the record.
