What is Caedium Builder?

Caedium Builder allows you to quickly and easily create 2D or 3D models that represent your designs.

Caedium Builder's versatile, history-free modeling provides access to CAD-like features in Caedium's unified simulation environment, so you can create your geometry and see the physical results of your simulation without having to leave Caedium—no tedious, time-consuming export and data import.

Create geometry using solid modeling with NURBS, primitives, and Booleans in Caedium Builder.

Caedium Builder is an add-on to Caedium and offers the following features:

Construction geometry

Use standard 3D volumes: box, cone, cylinder, frustum, sphere, torus.

Sew the faces to create volumes.

Sew the edges to create faces.

Add standard 2D faces: circle, ellipse, rectangle.

Create 2D surfaces using the loft function.

Generate standard edge types: circle, ellipse, line.

Create cylindrical and tapered propellers

Use splines to create edges from vertices.

Create vertices.

Extrude, rotate, and sweep vertices, edges, and faces to create edges, faces, and volumes, respectively.

Create multiple instances of primitives in multiple centers of geometry.

Modify geometry

Bevel the edges of your geometry (for example, bevel edges of a cube).

Queue the edges of a volume (for example, fillet edges of a cube).

Fix tolerance issues.

Displacement of faces of a volume.

Use Flexile technology to perform topology operations, such as joins that can suppress small resources. Topology operations also allow you to combine faceted geometry and analytics in single hybrid models.

Combine geometry

Join geometry (for example, sphere and cube, circle and rectangle).

Subtract geometry (for example, sphere from a cube, circle from a rectangle).

Intersection of geometry (e.g., sphere and cube, circle and rectangle).

Transform geometry

Rotate, scale, and translate the geometry over the origin or user-defined axes.

Orient an object in the X, Y, or Z directions (useful for aligning cameras).

Align the source geometry centers, per conversion, with a target geometry center.

Several

Annotate your template and results with text.

Create additional axes to help you position your geometry quickly and accurately.

Add lights to illuminate your geometry and highlight special features.

Export brep files for use in other programs.
