What is Codebook?

Complete data security

Data entered into the Codebook is fully encrypted using the SQLCipher encrypted and open source database engine, providing advanced protection against brute force and side channel attacks.

The encryption used is AES-256 in CBC mode with HMAC-SHA512 page protection and other countermeasures against tampering. The key shunt is 250,000 rounds of PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA512 with a unique random salt. The underlying encryption library used depends on the platform: OpenSSL libcrypto on Android and Windows, Common Crypto on iOS and macOS.

Flexible data model

Organize your information into Categories, Entries, and Fields. Define your own labels and define the data types to control the behavior. Need models? Easy, copy and paste your records as you like.

Quick and Easy Access

Search when you type to find what you're looking for, in all names and fields of records. You can even create your own label to mark related records in different categories to facilitate research, such as "doctor."

The Recents view shows this entry or note that you just accessed a minute ago.

Mark entries as Favorites for easy access and sort them at the top of search results.

Multi-device synchronization and replication

Sync data changes across multiple platforms using Google Drive, Dropbox, or WiFi.
