What is Compos?

Compos is a unique composite beam design and analysis software program. In addition to the design and analysis of the composite beams, Compos can also perform induced vibration analysis on the feet for regular composite floors using the Resotec Damping System.

Composite beam design software program with unique features

Compos 8.5 - The latest major release includes a variety of innovative new features and usability advancements. Axial loads can be applied, end moments are now included, COM API enhancements, updated section and deck databases, updated signal conventions, and more. Visit the Resources tab for a more detailed look at version 8.5.

The Compos can handle composite beams with varying slab widths and thicknesses, tapered sheet beams, as well as screen penetrations and notches, with or without reinforcements. Compos is used by many engineers looking for a complete software offering for composite beam analysis and design.

Analyze the effects of using Richard Lees Decking's exclusive Resotec damping system. Other unique features of Compos include tapered sheet beams and varying plate widths and thicknesses.

How Compos works

Input: Using intuitive wizards and model tables, define straight, staggered, and conical steel beams and sheet metal beams that support catalog composite decks at any angle, covered with constant or variable depth and width, and normal or lightweight concrete. Set the spacing between the pins or let Compos decide the best arrangement based on the desired interaction and platform dimensions. Include penetrations into the beam weft or notches at the ends of the beam to reduce the capacity of the beam. Add the Resotec damping membrane when vibration of the steps is a problem.

Analysis and design: Compos will analyze the chosen beam to verify that it meets the final and maintenance requirements, both during construction and after, or will find the lighter or shallower beam it will be. The Compos will also measure the vibration response from the center point and the center line of the passage to the compartment.

Output: Compos will produce the detailed calculations, diagrams and drawings of the composite beams or provide the summary of the results of the beam design.

Key Features and Benefits

1.     Analysis and design composite and non-composite steel beams studded with ease

2.     Design for final and maintenance boundary states

3.     Step-induced vibration analysis for regular composite floors with and without Richard Lees Decking's Resotec damping system. No other software can consider Resotec Damping in the impact analysis.
