Step-by-step instructions for Windows
- You can also copy your data from an open spreadsheet like Excel and paste it into the application.
- Review transactions before conversion. Make sure the dates are correct, if the correct year (Date), the amount, withdrawals and deposits are shown in the corresponding columns, the check number (Doc / Check #) is assigned. Reassign columns to QIF fields, if necessary.
- Expenditure should be negative and payments to the account should be positive. Your credit card file may have positive expenses. Adjust the CSV mapping if necessary. Clicking 'Charges/withdrawals' will be positive if the expenses are positive in the CSV file.
- Select the QIF destination to match your version of Quicken or your accounting software: Quicken 2018+, Quicken 2017, Quicken 2015-2016, Quicken 2014 or earlier, Banktivity, Microsoft Money, NetSuite, MYOB, Reckon, YNAB, Quicken UK, AccountEdge, former Microsoft Money not USA, Quicken 4, Quicken French 2015.
- Set the Account Name and Account Type to create the QIF file for the correct account, set the Date format, if applicable.
- Click the 'Convert' button to create a QIF file.
- Confirm the name and location of the file.
- Now that the QIF file has been created, switch to Quicken and import the created QIF file. Before importing a QIF file, back up your data. To import a QIF file, select 'File' - 'Import file' - 'QIF file', select the created QIF file.
- For Quicken 2017 or earlier, it is important to select '' All accounts ''. For Quicken 2018 or later, you must select the actual account.
- Then click the 'Import' button.
- Then click the 'Done' button.
- Now your data is imported. Review the transaction after the import.
