What is CurveExpert Professional?

CurveExpert Professional is a cross-platform solution for curve adjustment and data analysis. Data can be modeled using a toolbox of linear regression models, nonlinear regression models, smoothing methods, or various types of splines. More than 90 templates are built-in, but custom regression models can also be user-defined. The full-featured publication-quality graphical representation capability allows a complete examination of the curve adjustment. The process of finding the best fit can be automated, allowing CurveExpert to compare your data with each model to choose the best curve. The software is designed with the aim of generating high quality results, saving time in the process.

Capabilities

  • Easy-to-use user interface: most math intensive applications are very difficult to use. Or CurveExpert Professional has a very intuitive interface, which allows you to import your data, generate results and create graphics with quality of publication with a minimum of effort. In fact, importing a file takes only four clicks, and generating a battery of results with associated charts takes two more.
  • Robust file import: Data files come in many shapes and sizes, and CurveExpert Professional makes importing your data files very easy. The smart file reader dynamically avoids the dataless areas of your file and tries to find labels for each column of data in your file.
  • Publication quality charts: An arbitrary number of charts can be created and saved. Rendering of plots is publication-quality, with full antialiasing support and the ability to customize each chart extensively. Graphics can be saved in various graphic file formats and can be copied and pasted directly into another application. For 3D plotting purposes, scatter plots, surfaces, and contour plots are supported. Graphic themes let you customize the look you prefer and reuse it. Graphics are interactive, zoom, pan, auto-scaling, and stack view capability.
  • Multivariate: Linear and nonlinear regressions can be calculated for datasets with multiple independent variables, without any limits.
  • Multicore: Put your extra CPU cores to work and calculate the results faster. A typical speedup is 3.5X on a 4-core system.
  • Built-in models: More than 90 built-in nonlinear models, with high-quality automatic initial estimates, are available for use. The models provided cover all major families.
  • Detailed query of the result: values and uncertainties of parameters, covariance matrix, parameter history, residual graphs. Forward and backward evaluation of value, differentiation, integration and generation of model tables. Residual Functioning Test, F-Tests, Akaike Information Criterion Test. All results have been formatted in HTML reports, with fully customizable numeric formatting.
  • Custom templates: You can also define templates, using a very large library of built-in mathematical functions, and the parameters in your templates can pick up any name you want. For more advanced users, a template can be as complex as necessary as it can be expressed as a Python function. This allows the creation of extremely complicated models, rather than the normal limitation of the equation models of a line in another software. In addition, the number of parameters is unlimited.
  • Functions: Just like templates, a set of built-in functions (above 40) can be evaluated and you can also define your own custom functions.
  • Classification of results: Results are automatically sorted by your choice of score, correlation coefficient, standard error, or coefficient of determination.
  • Quality worksheet: The integrated spreadsheet allows you to manually enter data and/or modify it with a set of data transformation tools. Data entry and clipping and pasting features are as easy as Excel.
  • Localization: Importing data or interoperating in European-style environments (which use a comma as a decimal) is extremely easy; regional settings are automatically obeyed or can be selectively enabled to match your specific workflow.
  • Record: An action record is kept in software sessions if you need to recreate a specific result. A message pane keeps you informed about the status of each calculated result.
