What is Drumagog?

Drumagog is a software plug-in that replaces acoustic drum tracks with your choice of other samples. But Drumagog also offers the "secret weapons" that mixing engineers use to give polish and power to hit records It's this unique combination of replacement and enhancement tools that has made Drumagog the industry standard for more than a decade.

Advanced drive mechanism captures all joints, including the chimbal

The Drumagog's powerful drive mechanism has been enhanced to accurately track the most demanding battery ranges. Tricky rollers and flames are no match for the Drumagog's new drive mechanism, which can even calculate and distinguish between right and left hand blows. In addition, Drumagog is the only substitute that can track the open, semi-open, and closed joints of chimbal. And to help insulate the tracks from unwanted battery bleeding, the Drumagog offers two different options. First, automatically reducing bleeding will prevent it from causing unwanted false triggers. Second, the Drumagog is the only product that offers a full-featured trigger filter section, offering high-pass, low-pass, band, and band rejection filters, each with adjustable frequency, level, and Q.

Full wave alignment

When a drumbeat and its replacement sample are aligned using the main or peak transient, as in other substituents, phase problems in the body of the waveforms can cause comb filtering or other artifacts. To avoid this, only Drumagog uses full wave alignment, a feature of its unique Auto-Align algorithm.  This "smart" algorithm aligns for the overall sound rather than simply aligning the transients. The result is phase coherence in all originally recorded drum hits and in all samples, thus maintaining the original fidelity of both. When traditional transient alignment is required, it is available by simply turning off the Auto-Align button.

Shooting, dynamic tracking, stealth mode and automatic bypass

The replacement is further refined with Drumagog's deep control of samples and drive. Complete information about each sample is displayed (even if it is a left or right hit). You can solo, mute, play, delete, and rearrange samples; change and automate the tuning, level, articulation and other parameters for each level; Change the firing amplitude for each or all samples. Using Dynamic Tracking, you can force samples to stay smooth or tall – or anywhere in between. Stealth Mode allows the original audio to pass until an adjustable shooting limit is reached, allowing you to override only the highest hits or allow track leaks between the replaced hits. Using Auto Ducking, you can even take a trap off an overhead track, leaving the rest of the sounds intact.

Corresponding room and overhead samples from a single hit

Another Drumagog unique is the handling of multiple samples triggered from a drum tap, usually aerial and room samples. Instead of pairing direct samples with a generic sample from the room, as is typical, Drumagog combines each direct sample with its exact sample from the room – the one recorded in the same room at the same time. The original timbre and dynamics are absolutely reproduced in the sound of the room and, because of Auto-Align, also maintain perfect phase coherence.

Battery-optimized synthesizer

Synthesizers have long been used by leading engineers to add vibration, depth, and power to recorded drums, and the Drumagog includes a synthesizer designed specifically for this purpose. As with any quality synthesizer, the oscillator can generate sine, square, or sawtooth waves at a certain frequency that can be modified by attack and decay controls, a low-pass filter, and a true resonance filter.

Convolution reverb

Drumagog offers the quality of convolution reverb with super-efficient controls, a variety of 30 IRs included, and the ability to import any standard 16- or 24-bit IR.

Morph | Engine

While cutting-edge engineers have traditionally used synthesis, reverb, distortion boxes, and other tricks to enhance a drum track, the Drumagog now features an entirely new effect, created specifically for the drums: the Morph | Engine. Designed in collaboration with Sabino Cannone, sound designer of MoReVoX, Morph | Engine reformulates the sound with each beat, for mind-blowing effects unmatched by anything else on the market.

Plug-in Hosting

As if all that sonic firepower wasn't enough, Drumagog now lets you use sounds from any VST virtual instrument instantly. Just open the plug-in inside Drumagog, select the note, adjust the mixing controls and you're done. Virtual drum sounds, keyboards, synthesizers, or sampled sounds such as strings or bass are now easily accessible without any heavy (and less accurate) MIDI routing.

Operating systems: Windows XP or later 64-bit versions of Windows 7 and Windows 8 recommended. Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later (Intel and Power PC), OS X 10.8 or later recommended.

Audio host application: Any VST, AAX/RTAS or AU host including: Pro Tools (versions 7 and newer), Logic, Ableton Live, Digital Performer, Nuendo, Cubase, SONAR, Reaper etc. We recommend 64-bit hosts.
