In particular, DSHplus is used for system function verification, system dynamics analysis, system reviews, component selection and design, fault diagnosis, and training purposes. For system or component analysis and optimization, DSHplus offers users an integrated CAE specialized fluid energy solution. Many libraries are available for realistic representation of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. To automate simulation, DSHplus provides several pre- and post-processing modules.
DSHplus also has numerous interfaces and add-ins to integrate with virtually any development environment. Open technology standards, such as FMI or DSHplus-STC, ensure access between applications to external simulation programs, for example via co-simulation. For virtual commissioning of installations and machines, the DSHplus-PLCI allows communication with PLC controllers.
A specialty of DSHplus is the pressure oscillation analysis and the simulation of battering ram of piping systems. Practical applications have proven that the results are comparable to a CFD simulation, but they only need a fraction of the CFD computation time. Therefore, DSHplus tube models are an ideal solution if an effect analysis has to be performed or if correction measures have to be prepared or optimized.
