What is Endpoint Data Protection?

Endpoint data protection keeps your data safe from physical and cyber threats. The encryption used by itself still leaves vulnerabilities for recovering sensitive data. To achieve truly complete endpoint data protection, a combined active encryption and cleansing system needs to mitigate these risks.

3-Step Terminal Data Protection with Endpoint Data Protection

Step 1: Full-disk encryption

Encryption is the ideal solution for anyone concerned about protecting sensitive information on lost or stolen computers. In 2006, Jetico introduced BestCrypt Volume Encryption as the world's first native encryption software for disk volumes – offering greater flexibility and performance compared to traditional full disk encryption.

With pre-boot authentication, Endpoint Data Protection keeps your data safe while your computer is turned off. But once the 'front gate' is open and attackers can get in, Volume Encryption (or any full disk encryption utility) is no longer protecting your sensitive data.

Step 2: Encryption for selected files and folders

Data protection is required on any active computer, shared workstation, or networked storage. Endpoint Data Protection provides transparent storage/access to selected files/folders on encrypted virtual drives.

Although files stored in encrypted containers are securely protected from attackers, recoverable traces can still exist in the open field. Therefore, it takes a good janitor to clean up the mess.

Step 3: Clearing selected files + data remanence

Residual data, known as Data Remanence, continues to exist after common activities such as "deleting" a file or moving a file. When data resides somewhere it shouldn't be, BCWipe is there to clean files and all data remanence beyond forensic recovery.

When operating systems deal with your sensitive data, it's like feeding a messy, cranky baby. The "food" doesn't just go for what you intended—it's spread in many locations where information can be easily retrieved. Endpoint Data Protection works like a magic babysitter – automatically catching and cleaning up all that mess, so you don't have to.
