What is Endpoint Security?

Endpoint Security is the inner circle of protection of the layered security concept that protects the heart of all corporate networks: the customers where employees work daily with sensitive data, where they enter access data and open email attachments. Endpoint Security includes all the technologies that protect these customers directly from threats and by exploiting vulnerabilities. This includes proactive malware protection, including an effective client firewall and efficient patch management to prevent vulnerabilities in installed programs from becoming an intrusion gateway.

Reliable detection of known threats with Endpoint Security

Most attacks on corporate networks are carried out with known malware that attempts to penetrate the outer layers of defense. Classic signature-based malware detection is closely linked with behavior-based detection, and plays a key role in the concept of layered security for early threat detection. Not only for this reason is indispensable in modern security solutions. In the concept of layered security, technologies for protecting customers rely on the virus scanner, signatures that operate at the edge of the network – for example, the mail filter or URL blocker. In this way, malicious files can be detected on the network before they reach clients.

Endpoint Security provides a new list of signatures through updates, so that computers on the network will be protected from known malware in real time. The unknown malware signature blocked by behavior-based detection immediately communicates to all protection technologies so they can stop the malware the next time directly at the outer layers.

What are subscriptions?

All files or programs have a unique "  digital". If a file or program is classified as malicious, it is blacklisted. During a virus scan, file signatures are compared to this list – this happens very quickly and runs regularly in the background. If antivirus software finds a blacklisted file signature, it detects it as malicious and sends it to quarantine.
