EOS CloudVision

Arista pioneered the networking industry with its cloud-driven networking approach built upon Arista EOS with programmable interfaces, publish-subscribe state separation, tough containment and self-healing attributes. CloudVision extends the same network-wide architecture approach with a state-based view of the entire network, in private, public, and hybrid clouds. This allows customers to migrate to cloud class automation without requiring significant custom internal development. CloudVision is a network-wide approach to workload orchestration, workflow automation, and real-time telemetry as a complete solution for Cloud Networking.

What is EOS CloudVision ?

Arista pioneered the networking industry with its cloud-driven networking approach built upon Arista EOS with programmable interfaces, publish-subscribe state separation, tough containment and self-healing attributes. CloudVision extends the same network-wide architecture approach with a state-based view of the entire network, in private, public, and hybrid clouds. This allows customers to migrate to cloud class automation without requiring significant custom internal development. CloudVision is a network-wide approach to workload orchestration, workflow automation, and real-time telemetry as a complete solution for Cloud Networking.

CloudVision's abstraction of the physical network for this broader, network-wide perspective enables a more efficient approach to multiple operational and network telemetry use cases, including the following highlights:

  • Centralized representation of distributed network state, enabling a single point of integration and visibility and analysis of the entire network
  • Agnostic controller support for physical and virtual workload orchestration through open APIs such as OVSDB, JSON, and Openstack plug-ins.
  • Turn-key automation for initial and continuous zero-touch provisioning, configuration management, and network-to-network change management, including automated updates, network backing, and network snapshots.
  • Compliance Dashboard for Security, Auditing, and Patch Management
  • Real-time state flow for telemetry and network analysis, a modern approach to replacing device-inherited polling
  • State store, analytics engines, and telemetry applications to provide an unprecedented level of granularity in real-time monitoring and historical network state for troubleshooting forensics
  • TM Cloud Tracer for visibility into the availability of network connections and services in private, public, and hybrid cloud environments
  • The macro segmentation service provides automated and integrated service insertion and integration with partner security platforms

Ecosystem Integration

Arista customers are trying to orchestrate workflows across their physical and virtual infrastructure. Arista EOS CloudVision is the platform for deeper integration with a wide range of arista ecosystem partner solutions, including VMWare NSX TM, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Palo Alto Networks, Checkpoint, Fortinet, ServiceNow, Red Hat, Linux Foundation, and many others.

System Requirements

The minimum hardware requirements for using CloudVision Portal in a lab environment are:

  • CPUs: 8 cores
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • Disk: 100 GB (use RPM installer)

The recommended hardware required to use CloudVision Portal in a production environment (3-node cluster) to manage up to 250 devices is:

  • CPUs: 16 cores
  • RAM: Recommended 22 GB (up to 250 devices)
  • Disc: 1 TB
