What is EssentialPIM?

EssentialPIM for Windows is a personal information manager that lets you manage appointments, tasks, notes, contacts, password entries, and email messages across multiple devices and cloud apps. It has evolved over the years into a flexible and intuitive app that lets you get started in minutes. Fully portable

EssentialPIM Portable can work directly from your USB flash drive or any other portable device. All your settings and data are stored on removable media in a dedicated folder, without any traces on the host system. Data files can also be heavily encrypted using the industry-standard 256-bit AES key to prevent access to the data in case of media loss/theft.

Cross-referenced and tagged data

Mark and link any items with any other items in EssentialPIM. It's your data, interconnected. Link your query with the people you know and tasks you need to do before you meet them. View all related data on one screen, regardless of type.

Reliable and versatile security

Your data can be encrypted using the industry-standard advanced 256-bit AES (Rijndael) key. In addition, you can select which data to protect and which to leave accessible without a password. Synchronization with cloud services is secured via SSL – the same technology used in your online banking. Data is protected on your computer and is also protected when you leave your computer.

Multiple languages

If your native language isn't English, chances are good that EssentialPIM will support you! Some of the most popular supported languages: Portuguese, Italian, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Polish, Dutch, Turkish, Swedish.

Easy to migrate and get data, no locking

EssentialPIM has extensive data import and export capabilities. There is no locking of your data, so you can transfer it in and out the way you need it. Just a few of the supported data formats include: EML, XML, HTML, RTF, CSV, TXT, iCal, and vCard.

Global search

EssentialPIM can become your data silo, but it will never let you drown in information. Never lose any information by searching the entire database in a matter of seconds.

Open source database

EssentialPIM uses the open-source Firebird database engine. This means that all the data is yours. No proprietary formats, no blocking. You can even write plugins and apps to work with your data the way you prefer.

Group, limit, hide, and add data – all made possible with flexible and easy print reports. All data in EssentialPIM can be printed in multiple layouts.

Multi-user database access

Need to collaboratively work with others? Assign access rights and allow everyone to share their calendar, contacts, to-do lists, notes, and even password entries with other workgroup members.

Storing and linking to external attachments

EssentialPIM will store all the external files attached to items (appointments, notes, tasks, etc.) that you need to keep handy. You can also choose to link to external files, saving some space in the database.

Thoughtful usability

We're listening to our users and working on the interface, making things easier and doing repetitions. The result is a clean, polished interface that doesn't get in the way, but gives you access to various features as you explore the program. EssentialPIM also offers many customizable keyboard shortcuts to keep you productive.

Additional software for your data management needs

There's more to EssentialPIM than just managing your information. There are tools to take care of your database: EPIM Synchronizer to synchronize multiple databases with each other and EPIM Archiver/DupeRemover to archive old items and remove duplicate entries from the database.
