What is EViews Enterprise Edition?

EViews Enterprise offers all the features of EViews Standard Version, but also provides flexibility to connect directly to different data sources. If you want to use a different vendor, use The ODBC to connect to a relative database, or use the EViews Database Extension Interface ("EDX") or the EViews Database Object ("EDO") Library to connect to your own data source, EViews Enterprise is the tool for you!

With EViews Entreprise, you'll be able to increase your work efficiency by decreasing the steps you need to bring your data into EViews files, and improve accurate modeling with the latest data directly from your data source.

EViews Enterprise Database Extensions:

In order to bring EViews access to as much data as possible, we have created the new Database Extension Interface. Now, any external data source that implements this interface can be opened directly through EViews and used as an EViews database itself.

By implementing the database with the extension, you can extend The EViews to include one or more of the following features:

• An EViews user may question which objects the external database contains;
• An EViews user can read data objects from the external database;
• An EViews user can write data objects to the external database;
• An EViews user can search among the contents of the external database using a custom interface developed specifically for data source.

The Database Extension interface is a set of COM interfaces. To support this new format, a small library (typically hosted on a DLL) is created that contains COM objects that implement these interfaces. This library can be developed in different programming environments, including C++ and Microsoft.NET. These COM objects are used by EViews to interact with the original database.

EViews Enterprise Database Object Library (EDO):

The EViews Enterprise Database Object Library (EDO) enables you to access objects that are within the EViews database and external application files.

The library consists of a set of COM objects exported to EViews that can be easily used in a variety of development environments, such as Microsoft.NET and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
