What is F4transkript?

Natural writing flow

Variable speed:

Almost no one types as fast as people talk. Just reduce the recording speed without changing the tone. And of course, faster in the review process, so you'll have done it sooner with F4transkript.

Easy control and automatic return:

Play and pause with the F4 / F5 key or with the USB pedal with the F4transkript. During each pause in the transcript, the system automatically rewinds. This way, you hear the last words again and stay in the flow of writing. 

Focus

Only essential:

To type with concentration, you need peace and quiet, leisure and a clear text editor. In distraction-free mode, press F11 to hide all options. It remains a friendly view of the transcript, even at night.

Display fixed page width overlays:

Exact speaker overlays for simultaneous speech can be displayed in fixed page width mode. When enabled, f4 uses a monospaced font and limits the width. Your text will be exactly the same in Word as it is in f4.

Precision

Automatic time stamps and statistics:

F4transkript automatically inserts time stamps. A click on a timestamp starts playback at exactly that point. In addition, f4transkript automatically creates a typing speed statistic and shows how long it will take to edit the document. 

Waveform with time measurement:

The waveform shows where you are in the recording and how loud is what you are saying at that moment. Markers show the length of the passage in seconds. You can measure precise speech times or pause intervals and insert them into the transcript using a shortcut key.

Automation

Automatic speaker switching:

Speaker names can be stored once and then automatically entered alternately for each new paragraph. On Win/Linux even colorful.

Predefined text elements:

Simply store the most important text modules for recurring sentences or special transcription characters. These are entered automatically by typing an abbreviation + spacebar.

Room for more

Comments to your text:

The creation of a transcript is already a significant step in the evaluation work. The comments field provides space for basic information and first insights. All data can be exported to Word, f4analyse, MAXQDA, ATLAS.ti, Excel and others.

System Requirements:

f4transcript runs on Windows 7 and above and on various Linux distributions - The Mac version is called f5transkript and runs on Mac OS X 10.7 and higher.
