What is FARO Zone?

  • Easy to use

The FARO Zone is designed to be easy to learn and use, especially for people who can use the software only occasionally.

  • Precise

FARO Zone 3D is a computer-aided design (CAD) program, so data points are accurate for 16 places to the right of the decimal point.

  • Designed specifically for public safety, forensic and security professionals

The difference between FARO Zone and other diagramming software is that FARO Zone is specifically designed to be used in public safety and forensic applications. You don't need to be an engineer or architect to learn how to use it, nor do you need to take a year of CAD classes in college.

  • Import a variety of data

With FARO Zone, you can import manual measurements, full station points, drone data, and any laser scanner (.pts). If you use FARO laser scanners, you'll save time whenever you want to diagram and analyze a scene using a point cloud. It is much faster to open point clouds as a SCENE project, and you do not need to export the point cloud to another large file format.

System requirements:

  • Microsoft Windows 64-bit 7, 8 or 10
  • CPU equivalent to an Intel i5 or better. For point cloud use, an i7 is highly recommended.
  • 8 GB ram or higher
  • 12 GB of free hard drive space
  • Any Windows-compatible mouse with a scroll wheel
  • A DirectX 11 compatible graphics card, such as Nvidia Quadro 2000, GeForce 400+, Radeon HD4000+ or higher, is recommended
  • Recommended accessory: Mouse 3D
