AggreGate Fleet Manager is a vehicle monitoring and control system for managing a fleet of cars, trucks, ships, forklifts or other vehicles. It provides excellent coverage for tracking asset and vehicle location via GNSS, internal beacon-based positioning, as well as RFID and similar tagging. It also enables centralized collection, storage, processing, and visualization of various telemetry data.
Telemetry and remote control of vehicles
Each vehicle in a fleet is typically equipped with a tracker or controller that collects a variety of data about driver behavior. Data flowing to the platform also includes parameters such as steering speed, maximum acceleration, and vehicle-experienced shocks, driving patterns such as the amount of time spent driving versus the amount of time spent idling. The system also functions as an access controller for the vehicle - drivers use their access codes or RFID cards to "log on" to a vehicle.
Driver access to a vehicle may also be subject to certain time constraints, such as "only within a predefined shift", "only within standard working hours". In addition, all vehicle logins and logouts are logged. In combination with vehicle steering pattern records, this creates an extensive audit trail. The system can also perform a number of additional functions such as monitoring fuel and oil levels, battery charge. In critical situations, a vehicle can be remotely immobilized by a control center operator.
Internal tracking and delayed operations
A wireless connection for each vehicle is typically unstable. Even on a site with general wireless coverage, there are always some wireless "blind spots" where the connection is unstable or unavailable. In internal tracking (for example, based on Wi-Fi or ZigBee), vehicles are not even confined to a certain location and only return to the base occasionally. M2M devices that run through cellular and satellite links also do not maintain any constant server connections. This dramatically reduces the opportunity to configure or update multiple devices at once.
AggreGate is built from the beginning to avoid this limitation. Data is synchronized between the devices and the server whenever a connection is available. You can always change the settings for a particular vehicle, and once that vehicle goes into range, the new settings will load into it automatically.
You can also browse the vehicle's event list (logins, logouts, alerts) whenever you want, not just when the vehicle is within range and connected. In case of disconnection, you'll see the latest data available ("device photo") and as soon as the vehicle enters range (or resync via GPRS or other long-range means), you'll see the new data.
