What is Geomatica?

Segmentation, Classification and Extraction of Resources

Easy to learn and easy to use, the Object Analyst add-on guides you through image segmentation, training site creation, ranking (including custom rule creation), and resource extraction. By targeting images in discrete shapes, boundaries and relationships can be more easily viewed and analyzed, leading to new insights and discoveries. Shape manipulation and precision assessment are also included, allowing for fast processing of images and results.

Interferometry

End-to-end interferometric radar processing is in the new InSAR add-on. Each step of the process is designed to be flexible, intuitive, and executed independently or in sequence through the Geomatica Python API, with default values to help with automation. Using RadarSat-2 and TerraSar-X, InSAR is suitable for any application of subsidence or elevation of the earth and allows time series analysis to measure change and rate of change in image stacks. Interferograms can also be generated from Kompsat-5, Cosmo-Skymed and other sensors.

Quick, Accurate, and Modeled Calculation

With features like automated GCP and point-of-connection collection, multi-way point selection, and the ability to calculate absolute, relative, or combined models, Geomatica offers everything you need to get fast and accurate results. Image thumbnails and background reference layers simplify project setup, and our powerful editing tools, image deactivation feature, and detailed reporting allow you to spend less time checking your orthophotographs to start your next project early.

High-resolution DEM extraction

Extracting high-quality, high-resolution digital elevation models from the latest sensors is easier and faster than ever before. Work with 100 or 1,000 stereo pairs, join billions of Lidar points, contour lines, and other elevation data to create perfect elevation models in full resolution. Effective straightening and interpolation remove holes, providing the full coverage needed for your orthos and mosaics.

Better-looking mosaics

Along with automatic color balancing and cutting line placement, all the editing tools you need can be found in Geomatica. Achieve consistently enjoyable results thanks to global and local exposure correction, contrast adjustment (sigma), as well as deflecting points along cut lines or within images. Our workflow and global interfaces eliminate the need for post-mosaic editing in other software.
