What is GraphPad Prism?

GraphPad Prism Software, available for both Windows and Mac, combines scientific charts, understandable curve adjustment (nonlinear regression), easy-to-understand statistics, organization, and data.

GraphPad Prism was originally designed for experimental biologists in medical schools and pharmaceutical companies, especially those in pharmacology and physiology. Prism is now used by all types of biologists as well as sociologists and physicists. More than 200,000 scientists in more than 100 countries are betting on Prism to analyze, demonstrate and present their scientific data. It is also widely used for undergraduate and graduate students.

Nonlinear Regression - GraphPad Prism

Nonlinear regression is an important tool for data analysis, but it is usually more difficult than it should be. No other program simplifies the adjustment of curves like Prism. In fact, you can adjust the curves in just one step. Just select an equation from the most used list (or insert your own equation) and Prism will do the rest automatically – you'll adjust the curves, show the table results, draw the curves on the chart, and interpolate unknown values.

Enter data in multiple sets side by side for an organized table, and Prism will adjust it at once. You can adjust the same model separately for each dataset, use global nonlinear regression to share parameter values between datasets, or dock the different models for different datasets.

Don't get carried away by simplicity. Prism also offers you many advanced options. It can report the ranges of the best fit parameters in bands (likelihood profile) that are more accurate than the common symmetric intervals. You can also automatically interpolate unknown values in a standard curve (i.e., analyze RIA data), compare the adjustments of two equations using an F-Test or akaike Information Criterion (AIC), plot residuals, identify extreme points, differentiate weight between data, test residual normality, and more.

Understandable Statistics - GraphPad Prism

While it doesn't replace a heavy-handed statistics program, GraphPad Prism allows you to develop the basic statistical tests most commonly used by laboratories and clinical researchers. Prism offers tests, non-parameterized comparations, one- or two- or three-factor ANOVA, contingency analysis tables, and survival analyses. The choices of analyses are presented in a clear language that avoids unnecessary statistical jargon.

Unlike other programs, Prism offers understandable statistical help when needed. Click "Learn" from any data analysis and Prism's online documentation will explain the principles of analytics to help you make appropriate choices. Once you've made your choices, Prism will present the results in an organized way and easy-to-understand tables. Prism documentation goes beyond anything you can imagine. More than half are focused on explaining basic statistics and adjusting nonlinear curves, to teach you what you need to know to analyze your data appropriately.

Review your reviews - GraphPad Prism

It's not real science if you don't document exactly how your data was analyzed. With Prism, that's not a problem anymore. You'll never question how you got to a result. Even if the work was done by someone else, you can review (and change) all choices and see the sequence of analyses (that is, that x values were transformed into logarithms before the curve was adjusted). Similarly, you can easily make sure that the error bars represent the SD or sem (or something else).

Automation without programming - GraphPad Prism

All parts of your Prism project are related. This means that when you repair a data with error, Prism automatically updates all results, charts, and drawings. Another advantage is that you can instantly analyze a repeating experiment. The data tables contain not only the data that you have analyzed and graphically demonstrated, but also the data that you have decided to delete, which remains in the table. You can highlight data that you want to see later.

System Requirements

Prism 7 for Windows works on 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows Vista, 7, 8, or 10.  Prism will rotate on an 800 x 540 monitor. Although it runs on 64bit versions, it is a 32bit program.

Prism 7 for Macintosh requires OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) or higher.

Prism requires 90MB of hard disk space.
