Naming conventions
You can keep a 'business name' and a 'technical name' for objects (containers, entities, and attributes).
To make it easier to maintain these 2 names, you can keep them synchronized and transformed based on a set of User Oriented Parameters, and optionally based on a conversion file kept out of the application.
Name conversion can occur in both directions: Business-to-Technical or Technical-to-Business. In addition, when reverse engineering, it is assumed that the database instance contains technical names, to be transformed into trade names.
Bulk editing in Excel with export/import
For any of the supported targets, you can export all or part of a model, so that properties can be easily edited in a tabular format, to be reimported back into the application. You can select and choose exactly which objects and properties are exported to each target.
Model-based API generation
Generate an OpenAPI (or Swagger) model and documentation from any Hackolade target model. This feature will help make your APIs more consistent than those produced manually, while easily exposing resources to underlying data sources. API maintenance will be greatly facilitated and the total cost of ownership reduced. Make an entity relationship diagram (ERD) to automatically generate the API for CRUD operations of the entities in that data model.
