What is Hyena?

Used by tens of thousands of system administrators worldwide for nearly 20 years, Hyena is known across the industry as one of the leading windows and active directory management utilities.

It is designed to simplify and centralize almost all day-to-day management tasks, while providing new features for system administration. This functionality is provided in a single, easy-to-use product.

Using built-in Windows administration tools to manage a medium- to large-sized Windows 200x network, or an Active Directory environment will be a big challenge. Adding multiple domains, hundreds or thousands of servers, workstations, and users will eventually turn your turn, before you know it, to turn things into chaos and out of control. Hyena is designed to simplify and centralize almost all day-to-day management tasks, while providing new features for system administration. This functionality comes in a single, easy-to-use centralized product.

Hyena uses an Explorer-style interface for all operations, including mouse-click pop-up context menus for all objects. Management of users, groups (local and global), shares, domains, computers, services, devices, events, files, printers and print jobs, sessions, open files, disk space, user rights, messages, export, job scheduling, processes, and printing are all supported.

Hyena also includes:

• Full export features with Microsoft Access and Excel reporting and export options.
• Terminal Server user properties and session administration.
• Property management and server mailbox integration.
• Integration with WMI.

In addition to supporting the standard management functions of the Windows system, Hyena also includes comprehensive Active Directory support and management tools.
