What is Hyper-V Monitoring?

Comprehensive set of real-time agentless Hyper-V monitoring and management.

Host usage and agentless VM usage monitoring

The VirtualMetric Hyper-V monitoring solution provides detailed statistics for your host usage. CPU load and usage, free memory and storage reports, storage IOPS, network usage, and number of VMs per host. Everything presented visually is easy to understand and work with graphics.

The intelligent combination of host usage with agentless VM usage monitoring helps you control your Hyper-V environment easily. Comprehensive, up-to-date information about each VM in your Hyper-V infrastructure.

Guest usage monitoring

Hyper-V allows you to monitor only usage and performance statistics. Do you also need to monitor usage as a guest? VirtualMetric is here to help!

VirtualMetric shows the use of each virtual machine in its virtualization. All statistics are gathered without installing any agents on all your virtual machines.

Track all guest and host VM servers, memory usage, and various other performance counters.

Storage latency monitoring

Storage latency is one of the most impactful things in the performance and responsiveness of Hyper-V virtual machines. If your environment has high latency, you'll get I/O waits and slow speed from read and write operations. The result is general performance and low speed issues of all virtualization or I/O intensive applications.

Monitoring storage latency helps you track the cause of latency and quickly identify any bottlenecks that cause performance issues. Hyper-V latency troubleshooting has never been easier!

Instant reports

One of the great features of Microsoft's Hyper-V is the snapshot. Hyper-V snapshots are essential for fast VM recovery, but they are not a backup solution and should be used sparingly. The main reason for this is that snapshots can directly affect read performance on your virtual hard drives and waste valuable storage on your Hyper-V infrastructure.

VirtualMetric provides detailed reports of Hyper-V snapshots, including snapshot name, creation time, snapshot notes, parent snapshot tree, and virtual machines child. This allows you to manage your snapshots and optimize their usage easily.

vHBA Reports

Are you using VIRTUAL HBA on your virtual machines? Do you find it difficult to keep a track on vHBA inventory?

By having many vHBA virtual machines, you may feel lost. If a VM is causing massive Use of I/O, you need to quickly identify it and fix the problem. VirtualMetric vHBA reports are helping you solve problematic VM issues quickly. All vHBA inventory is now exposed to you and is easy to manage.

Virtual HBA inventory reports provide information about the SAN switch, WWNN and WWPN addresses of virtual machines, and more.

Hyper-V replica tracking and reporting

The Hyper-V replica is a useful feature used for disaster recovery and migration of VMs from one datacenter to another. A virtual machine replica is a full, run-ready copy of the source virtual machine, but cannot be used as a replacement for backup or clustering or automated failover.

The VirtualMetric monitoring solution is tracking the success of your Hyper-V replicas, thus ensuring that you are 100% prepared in case of disaster recovery need. Providing notifications and alerts if a replication problem occurs. No more need to be an expert and write PowerShell scripts. You can easily track your Hyper-V replicas, replica latency, and errors with a single click of a button.

Cluster Shared Volumes Reports (CSV)

In the Hyper-V environment, you collect a large number of virtual machines on a physical disk. Several different Hyper-V hosts can access the specific disk. Because all virtual machines see the same storage, you can easily migrate virtual machines through hosts.

Cluster Shared Volume Reports (CSV) help you easily get historical data and performance statistics for your Hyper-V Cluster Shared Volumes. Detailed performance reports such as latency, IOPS, disk usage, queue length, and throughput. In addition, you can track the model, subscription, serial number, and firmware version of your Cluster Shared Volumes.

VM right-sizing

Correct VM scaling is a process in which system administrators optimize resource allocation in a virtualized hardware environment. Correct VM scaling helps optimize the capacity of your virtual infrastructure. Correct scaling of your VMs can improve the overall performance of your Hyper-V environment. VirtualMetric Hyper-V monitoring software helps you identify oversized or smaller workloads in your infrastructure. This way, you improve your performance and ensure efficient use of your underlying hardware.

Blue screen monitoring and detection

VirtualMetric can capture BSOD and startup problems using advanced image processing algorithm. Set up automated notifications and alerts if a blue screen is detected to prevent IT disasters. You always know what's going on with your virtual environment.

Microsoft Nano Server Monitoring

Are you among the innovators using cutting-edge technologies? Microsoft Nano Server is among the new technologies that have been gaining prominence recently. The Nano server is widely used for virtualization and containers. If you are this type of user, ensure the smooth operation and high performance of your containers using a real-time Microsoft Nano Server Monitoring. Agentless monitoring and performance tracking of Nano Server to ensure the integrity of your virtualization.

VirtualMetric is the only monitoring product on the market that offers a unique solution, the intelligent combination of collecting all inventory and Nano Server Monitoring. Efficiently manage your Nano Server, save time and effort.

Heat map monitoring

One of the most useful features we recommend is the VirtualMetric heat map. It allows you to track all the infrastructure you manage in just 2-3 seconds. The heat map is a visual representation of the current state of all your hosts, using different colors to show the status of each host:

  • Healthy
  • Monitor
  • Attention
  • Error

You can monitor all inventory performance and health counters in a simple interface. The heat map provides quick information about potential performance and hardware issues in real time.

Using the Hyper-V heat map in real time, you get complete visibility and easy tracking and reporting of the live state of virtualization.

Web-based Hyper-V monitoring

By using VirtualMetric, you take advantage of a web-based server monitoring tool. No need to install applications and waste time. 800 different counters and event logs collected and displayed in a web-based dashboard. Detailed Insights section, multi-tenancy, and intelligent organization of your monitoring. We provide everything you need to manage your Hyper-V server easily and save your time.

API Access

All VirtualMetric components use the VirtualMetric API to communicate with the VirtualMetric database. You can easily install two or more VirtualMetric API functions to form a high availability VirtualMetric API.

Thanks to our advanced API, you can create automation to automatically add all new servers and hosts to the monitoring system. No more need to discover the network or add new hosts manually.

Add new VMs, get reports, use performance automatically using the VirtualMetric API. Provide detailed monitoring for your customers within your cloud dashboard using our API.

Full Tracking of Hyper-V History

Need to rename a VM, migrate from one data center to another, or between different physical servers? Unlike most monitoring solutions, we collect inventory, track, and record a complete history of your VMs.

VirtualMetric collects VM ID counters and maps them to the application to help you track VM migrations and changes. The same applies even if you migrate the VM disks.

Dynamic Dashboards

We understand that different teams and people have their way of working and different priorities in monitoring virtualization. Therefore, we provide a fully customizable dynamic dashboard to meet all types of requirements. The team is focused on creating not only a feature-rich product, but also a great user experience for customers. In addition, we give you the opportunity to customize your VirtualMetric panel to your needs!

Full control over your Hyper-V monitoring solution and maximum agility!

Active Directory integration

Ensure the security of your infrastructure thanks to Active Directory Integration. There is no need to create basic users on all servers. No configuration changes on the servers, no server restarts and registry changes, and no additional work.

If you set up VirtualMetric on an Active Directory member server, you can start VirtualMetric Collector with a privileged active directory account. When you do this, you do not need to enter any username/password in VirtualMetric to connect Hosts that are members of the same Active Directory.

If you want to use basic authentication to connect hosts, VirtualMetric uses the advanced encryption or AES pattern with a 128-bit key to encrypt your passwords. It is one of the most secure encryption methods used in most modern encryption algorithms and technologies. 128-bit encryption is considered logically unbreakable.
