Managing label printing using Excel

You can also manage and maintain lists, multiple label datasets, and/or a database of labels that need to be printed in Excel and mark them for printing using the plug-in. Label Printing from Excel can print only the labels you've bookmarked. These label database features are very powerful, because you can use all the sorting and markup features built into Excel, instead of relying on a standalone data management tool.

Label Printing from Excel has two powerful ways to update your Excel spreadsheets using our barcode readers. The first is an easy way to capture and enter all inventory transactions directly into Excel. Using Worth Data's TriCoders 5000 to scan all pertinent data into the portable device's memory, you use our KwikCount/EXSuplemento to update an existing Excel spreadsheet. You can use as many TriCoder as you want and update quantities, remove counts, add counts, attach to counts or columns of data. Label Printing from Excel is our most popular add-in and makes it easy to remotely collect and inventory data with Excel.

The second option to update spreadsheets in Excel is to use our KwikCount/RF, which offers real-time inventory control using our 7802 Wi-Fi 802.11 wireless RF terminals or the 7000 900Mhz series RF terminals. No programming knowledge is required and you can do data searches and update counts, check prices and update in real time very powerful Excel spreadsheets and columns!

The ability to print barcodes in Excel and import barcode data from a data collector really makes Excel inventory control practical. Add-ins are programs that Worth Data provides, and after being "added" to Excel, they become one of the available options from the Excel drop-down menu. Excel and barcoding are effectively integrated with printing and updating barcodes, making it one of the tools in Excel. What could be easier?

In addition to support for Excel's portable reader (which updates up to 10 different fields) using KwikCount/EX or real-time RF update of spreadsheets using our KwikCountRF, all Worth Data barcode readers can be configured to work with Excel.

For example, any of our USB keyboard output readers can be configured to do a search in Excel based on the data being scanned, locating it in the appropriate cell. The same reader can be programmed to move to the correct column for keyboard refresh. For the search, a "Ctrl F" is programmed as the preamble to the scanned barcode data. When a barcode is scanned, the Ctrl F keys are transmitted and the data scanned, which becomes the "wanted" data.
