  • Boost Productivity: Automate record keeping, reporting, and other time-consuming tasks so you can focus on what you do best.
  • Improve Security: Identify risks, vulnerabilities and non-compliance before they become an issue.
  • Cut Costs: Find unnecessary expenses, support budget decisions and cost-effectively manage your IT.
ITAM - IT Asset Management

IT Asset Management (ITAM) is a strategy that aims to efficiently manage all hardware, software and network device assets in an enterprise. With ITAM, you can ensure that assets are correctly deployed, supported, updated and disposed of, thereby reducing security risks and wasted resources.

In addition, ITAM helps identify unnecessary expenses, avoids fines due to software license violations, and allows the company to comply with security policies and IT regulations. With a complete inventory of IT assets, you can better manage your IT infrastructure, prevent failures, make data-driven decisions and optimize costs.

By implementing an ITAM strategy, your company can gain a clearer and more complete view of your IT assets, allowing you to make informed and effective decisions about resource management.

Why Lansweeper?

Lansweeper helps you minimize risk and optimize your IT by providing an actionable view of your entire technology asset.

With IT emerging in all forms, every, at any time, the pressure on IT processes is greater than ever, ensuring an organization's stability, continuity and productivity. There is no centralized IT inventory tracking all the moving parts. IT managers often must make decisions based on scattered, outdated, and incomplete data sources. How can you manage your technology efficiently if you're not 100% sure which assets you need to manage in the first place?

The high cost of a piecemeal approach

An incomplete and inaccurate inventory of IT assets can also result in hardware assets that are idle or at half capacity. Organizations end up paying for software licenses they aren't even using. Forgotten or lost assets could be running outdated software or even malware, creating security vulnerabilities that lead to massive financial loss and compromised data.

This has a number of everyday consequences:

- Underleveraged and redundant data silos

- Inefficiency and ill-informed decisions

- Misalignment across the enterprise

- Money being lost across the board

All technology asset data in one place

Lansweeper is reversing the process of creating asset inventories. Rather than collecting data IT assets to meet the criteria of specific IT scenarios, we believe that ITAM should be a scenario-independent effort to create a single source of truth.

All your IT, OT and IoT assets on one platform

Learn how the Lansweeper platform offers a robust set of features to empower IT heroes to discover, analyze and connect all of their technology assets.

Cross-platform asset discovery

Discover all IT, IoT & OT assets on your network without having to install any software on your machines. Eliminate blind spots with truly comprehensive visibility across all devices, users and software across your entire technology fleet.

A centralized asset inventory

Manage the asset lifecycle and document everything business criticality, network management, IT service management and more. Lansweeper consolidates all asset details into a centralized System of Record. It gives companies complete visibility into their distributed technology environments, telling them what assets they own, they are located and who uses them.

IT data for everyone

Get the answers you need in no time. Consult top-to-bottom dashboards to oversee your technology heritage and drill down to details when needed. Break down data to find security risks, support audits, optimize costs, assess sustainability, and more. Choose hundreds of ready-to-use reports or quickly create custom reports.

Identify critical vulnerabilities and track assets throughout their lifecycle

Leverage vulnerability information the NIST catalog connected to your assets and benefit vulnerability insights. Gain visibility into assets with known vulnerabilities and benefit faster incident triage and response. Access lifecycle information to track the support status of products in your environment, allowing you to see which of your hardware assets and operating systems will be retired.

Visualize your IT asset data with diagrams

The diagramming features in Lansweeper enhance your discovery experience and understanding the state of your inventory. Quickly discover the relationships between your assets with dynamically generated diagrams (network topologies, virtual environments) on top of your inventory.

Connect Lansweeper to other systems

The Lansweeper Platform plugs directly into your existing technology stack so you can power every IT landscape with up-to-date, accurate data. Leverage data and insights you need them most: auto-populate your CMDB, improve your IT service management, enrich security incident alerts, strengthen your attack surface management, and so on. No matter what the IT landscape, the data is there, accurate and ready to use.

Advantages of ITAM

ITAM (IT Asset Management) is a fundamental practice for companies that want to better understand their IT infrastructure and resources. With ITAM, you can:

  • Get a single source of truth about your IT assets, enabling better decision-making and more efficient network management.
  • Understand the total cost of ownership of each IT asset, allowing better financial management and avoiding unnecessary purchases.
  • Ensure the efficient use of your IT assets, identifying which resources are underutilized or idle and optimizing their use.
  • Optimize your IT budget by cutting licensing and support costs, and avoiding fines for software non-compliance.
  • Analyze and reduce IT risks by identifying vulnerabilities and taking preventive measures to secure the network.
  • Strengthen the cybersecurity posture, as identifying and managing all IT assets is an important step in ensuring network protection.
  • It strengthens your cybersecurity posture because you can't protect what you don't know you have.

System requirements
  • Operating System: Windows 2000 or any newer 32-bit or 64-bit Windows operating system. Agentless scanning only supports non-home editions of Windows.
  • Firewall: Since Lansweeper extracts most of the Windows computer's data Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), you need to ensure that WMI traffic is allowed through client machine and other firewalls.
  • Disk space: Lansweeper's data, reports and settings are stored in a database, which is common in SQL Compact or SQL Server. Database size can vary greatly depending on the amount of data to be digitized and the amount of history maintained. Generally speaking, it is recommended to reserve 1 GB of disk space for 1,000 Windows computers. Non-Windows machines have less impact on database size
