Because Maptitude is an open product, it allows the user to create maps using their own data. Maptitude directly reads Excel spreadsheets, dBase, and text files, and can access data from any source that supports the ODBC standard, such as Access, Oracle, and many others. You can link data from a table to map elements or find data on a map using the address or zip code. In a few steps, you can use your own data to encode colors in postal or sales areas, show customers' location, or label map elements.

Maptitude corpora a complete variety of conversion tools, to import geographic data from other geographic information programs (GIS) and CAD. Add to this an interface for the Global Positioning System (GPS), which allows you to use location devices to track and record your location and create geographic databases on the march.
