MathType

What is MathType?

MathType is a powerful interactive equation editor for Windows and Macintosh that allows the creation of mathematical notations for word processing, web pages, desktop publishing, presentations, e-learning, and for TeX, LaTeX, and MathML documents.

Use MathType as a standalone or appforego to others, such as Microsoft Word, Apple Pages, WPS Presentation, iBooks Author, and more.

Create equations by selecting symbols and templates from one of mathtype toolbars, or if you prefer, use keyboard shortcuts.

If the user starts MathType from another application, the regular process of inserting the equation into your document happens simply. Just close mathtype.

In MathType use cases as a standalone application, it is enough for the user to copy and paste into applications, websites, blogs.

While MathType is a mature product that has been around for more than 20 years, features are always being added continuously. All this for the sake of user assistance in the workplace and so that that user always keeps up to date with the software.

It is important that the user always keeps MathType up to date so that improvements are always leveraged.

Adobe InDesign compatibility

Insert equations such as EPS images into InDesign. The use of these EPS images allows the software to display the equations perfectly, regardless of the chosen output form.

• Add an equation to InDesign.
• Edit an equation in InDesign.
• Import a Word document with MathType equations into InDesign (Windows only).

System requirements

Windows 7 or newer (including Windows 10).

Mac OS X El Capitan or newer (including macOS High Sierra).

If you are using MathType with Microsoft Office, it should follow the following settings:

Windows Office 2007 or newer (including Office 2016).

Mac Office 2011 or Office 2016 (version 15.39 or newer).
