Vibrant presented a new MEscope Visual Rapid Test package. This new method is faster, easier, more flexible and less expensive to implement than conventional modal or ODS testing methods. Once only structural responses are acquired, it can be used for ODS testing of machines in operation or for modal testing using an impactor or multiple agitators.
This package employs a new test method called "Slinky test". The MEscope Visual Rapid Test Slinky test requires only two vibration response sensors and only one 2-channel acquisition hardware system. Either or both sensors can be moved between acquisitions, thus forming a chain of transmissibility measurements called the TRN chain. The TRN chain preserves the magnitude and phase relationship between pairs of structural responses in the chain.
After a chain has been acquired, it can be sown with an automatic spectrum, cross-spectrum, Fourier spectrum, or FRF to produce a set of single reference measurements. These measurements can then be used to extract ODS and mode shapes from the test article with the MEscope Visual Rapid Test.
