Multitenancy Management is the client management module is a charged add-on of LOGINventory, with which multiple clients can be created and managed in separate databases. The module is available free of charge to competency partners. A valid LOGINventory license is still required for each customer.
Multiple clients can be created through the client management module.
Multitenancy Management Data Acquisition
In principle, all existing recording methods can be used on a per-client basis. Typical application scenarios are presented below, but of course other combinations are also possible.
Acquisition over a VPN connection
If there is a VPN connection from the LOGINventory computer to a client's network, that connection can be used for agentless scanning. To do this, Management Center is started in the context of the respective customer. In acquisition, the respective matching definitions and user accounts and, of course, an incoming calendar can store.
Recording with a laptop at the customer's home
If there is no permanent connection to the tenant's network and there is nothing to be installed, the devices can be recorded with the help of a laptop if there is access to the network during visits. A distinction must be made between whether the database into which the customer data is to be entered is located on the laptop or whether the data must be collected only from the client so that it can be stored in a database on the service network at a later time. Type the provider. Both scenarios are supported.
Acquisition without regular direct access to the tenant's network with Multitenancy Management
If data has to be collected without regular direct access to the tenant's network, the software must be installed or distributed in the tenant. The offline agent can be configured so that data is transferred over the Internet to the service provider's database, even without an existing LAN connection.
Alternatively, the acquisition module can be installed on the customer's Windows computer. With the standalone version of the acquisition module, all computers on the customer's network are checked regularly. All that's left is to find a way to transfer the resulting .inv files to the service provider for the full installation. This can be done, for example, through an offline agent, with a scheduled task, or manually using a USB stick.
