There is a library, generator, designer, copywriter, tool and reporting solution written in C++ based on the Qt multi-platform application and interface framework. NCReport is a great option if you are looking for a Qt reporting engine, Qt reporting tool, Qt report library, Qt reporting tool, C++ report library for Qt, or a Qt report library, or simply a tool that generates PDF documents from Qt using an XML template. NCReport supports Qt5 and Qt4.

Main features

GUI Designer Application

Native GUI application for report design. The designer creates the report template file that works with the reporting engine. The format of the report template is XML.

Data sources

Various types of datasources: SQL database. The supported databases: MySQL, PosgreSQL, MS SQL, Oracle, Sybase, Firebird, SqLite, or any database that has connection driver for Qt. Sql database connection is implicit or explicit. Regarding text, it can be static, text file, XML, QAbstractItemModel-based object, QStringList, custom data source class, subclassifying the base class of the data source.

Multiple output formats

Native output formats: screen view, printer, Postscript, PDF, SVG, JPEG, PNG, HTML, XLS/HTML. Includes a quick internal preview widget. With an additional text template, you can produce any custom text/markup outputs.

Report element items

Text label, field, HTML text, line, rectangle, ellipse, images, barcode, crosstable, QTableView items. A Custom item is available for graphics or any content generated by the QPainter-based application.

Parameters for sending data

Applications can send QVariant data to reports as a parameter. These can be used for direct rendering, in SQL commands, and in logical expressions and scripts. Parameters are useful for transferring dynamic images as well.

Details and groups sections

The reporting system is band-driven. Various details are supported in a report as multilevel detail section groups with group headers, footers, aggregate functions: SUM, COUNT, AVG, STD, MIN, MAX

Variables

Custom variables for aggregate functions, system variables for page numbering, and report meta-information.

Images

Static images, file, data source, and even http source. The file name can also be loaded from the data source.

Headers and footers

Optional header and footer bands at the report, page, and group levels.

HTML document mode

Create reports with the full Html document print mode type to print rich text documents from multiple pages. This reporting mode is very useful for document-oriented printing, such as letters, long HTML texts. Usable html elements are limited to the subset of html supported by QTextDocument.

Barcodes

Barcode rendering with at least 50 types of barcodes available, thanks to Zint's third-party barcode library. Barcode data can be fed from any data source. The barcode generator works with an external C-based command-line application.

Scripts

There are many options for using script expressions in a report. Scripts are based on ECMA/JavaScript. Scripts can work directly in fields and text or under logical conditions within the report. Report elements can show or hide logical script conditions

Conditional formatting

Conditional field and label formatting by a script condition. The format condition can dynamically change foreground or backround colors and fonts

Cross Tables

Tables with row-to-column rotation, optional pivot table generation, multiple-row tables, and multiple pages are supported.

Data-driven dynamic position and size

Geometric objects such as rectangle, line, ellipse can change the position and size by the data of the sources.

System Requirements

It runs natively on various platforms supported by Qt. such as Windows, Linux, MacOS, Solaris, Raspberry Pi, embedded Linux systems.
