NETEX-G is extremely fast because Artwork is using advanced algorithms developed for the IC world, where file sizes are two orders of magnitude larger.
For various purposes, package designers would like to take a stack of Gerber files (or an ODB ++file) and identify and extract all the metal associated with a specific network or network group. Network members must be generated by detecting conductors and routes in contact or overlapping to build connectivity. Gerber / ODB ++ filesets routinely have multiple layers of metal; metal layers are vertically interconnected by pathways; "openings" in the dielectric between the metal layers.
The workof art's NETEX-G program uses Boolean operations to merge connected strokes, flashes, and polygons into an "electrically" connected set. In addition to the actual Gerber file, NETEX-G requires a technology file that defines "stacking", that is, drivers and pathways.

OEM library version
OEM partners who want to incorporate Netex-G functionality into their own programs (to support importing Gerber/ODB++) data files can take advantage of the Netex-G library version. Special support is provided to these partners. Contact works of art for more details.
