What is ODEON?

Odeon is the most comprehensive software for room acoustics. Use ODEON software to simulate and measure the internal acoustics of buildings. With proper treatment, outdoor situations can also be studied. Given a 3d model and materials (surface properties), acoustics can be predicted, illustrated and heard. Sound reinforcement is easily integrated into acoustic predictions. ODEON uses the image source method combined with a modified ray tracking algorithm.

ODEON is known for its easy workflow, fast calculation times and high accuracy. The easy workflow makes it easy to use for the most common tasks, fast calculation time makes itative design processes possible, and the high accuracy makes it reliable a large community of engineers around the world.

What can you do in ODEON?

At ODEON, you can work with room acoustics in a number of ways, depending on your goal. The most common would be:

  • Perform 3D model acoustic simulations and display them in various ways
  • Measure acoustics in real rooms and get results immediately
  • Listen to the acoustics of 3D computer models with auralization options.

What kind of rooms?

ODEON can be used for medium and larger rooms. Although not designed for very small rooms such as bathrooms, it is perfect for:

  • Concert and opera rooms, theatres, churches and mosques
  • Open-plan offices, foyers, restaurants, music studios
  • Underground and railway stations, airport terminals
  • Industrial environments
  • Small-scale outdoor areas, up to 2 km in each dimension

Available in four editions

Ev ery new version of ODEON comes in four editions with different features available. All edits have the same calculation algorithms, the differences are in what results will be available in these calculations.

Workflow

When working in ODEON, the design process can be iterative (trial and error), testing different materials, sound sources, results options, parameters, etc. This is possible due to fast calculations based on strong software algorithms. See the workflow flowchart of simulations in ODEON in the image. However, when working with measurements or other applications, the workflow will be different.
