The OxMetrics system features a graphically oriented interactive system, menu-oriented, for econometric, statistical and financial analysis. Here, the main OxMetrics program is described, which acts as the 'front end' of a series of integrated software modules. These modules get your data from OxMetrics and return output and charts to it. OxMetrics is the component that allows you to upload, edit, and save data; transform this data using calculator or algebra; create a wide variety of graphics, which can be edited, changed and saved in various formats; provide the data for other modules to analyze; receive your output of text, results and graphics; and allows you to edit, change, and save one or all of these items as desired. As such, the OxMetrics front end can be seen as the desktop for econometric and statistical modeling.
OxMetrics databases can have a fixed or 'dated' frequency, which allows daily or timed data. Aggregation facilities are provided, p. to convert daily data into monthly data. OxMetrics is multilingual because the names of database variables and text in reports and charts can be from a wide variety of languages, including Chinese and Japanese.
