What is Photo Reactor?

Create Your Own Image Effects

Photo Reactor is a nodal image processor for creating new effects that can be applied directly to your photos or used within Adobe Photoshop with Reactor Player plug-in.

Create Effects from Blocks and Modules

You can assemble your new effect from the many provided blocks and modules.

The created effects can then be applied directly to other images. You can also use batch functionality to process hundreds of images at a time.

Run your effects in Adobe Photoshop

With the release of Reactor Player for Photoshop, you can now run your new effects in Adobe Photoshop and supported hosts.

Self-documentation

With common image editors like Photoshop, a lot of steps get lost unless you take notes (like the two layers you need to merge and when). Tutorials for creating Photoshop effects tend to stretch across multiple pages, and yet it's still easy to make mistakes. With Nodal image editing, every step is always in front of you at all times. You can rearrange, add, or delete the blocks at any time, and the will will automatically update the effect. Photo Reactor goes even further: exported JPG images will have the built-in effect. The same effect can be recreated later by simply dragging the JPG file back into Photo Reactor.

Link to Dynamic Auto Painter

Many built-in effects in Dynamic Auto Painter are created with Photo Reactor. With the full version of Photo Reactor, you can create new effects or edit existing ones (there are more than 150 in DAP6)

Main features of Photo Reactor

Easy to start, but grows with you

When you look at a complicated effect, it can look a little strange. But don't worry, the software is actually very easy to understand. Simply drag the blocks from the lists and connect them together.

Over 100 building blocks

There is a wide range of modules that you can use whole image shape and basic color processing for even more obscure ones.

Sliders and knobs

You can add sliders and buttons directly to the interface for "hands-on" editing of important parameters.

Film Simulator Module

Over 50 different film stocks and camera simulations using HALD CLUT.

Tools for advanced users

Reactor Script

With Photo Reactor, you can write your own basic blocks in a top-notch C++ that's fast and has easy direct lessons to access image pixels.

Expand with SDK

The software can generate a C++ SDK source code project for its own plug-in architecture where you configure everything visually and then populate the image processing in Visual Studio.

Connect external apps

Part of your reactor flow may be an external image coming from applications such as Adobe Photoshop. Anytime you save the image in Photoshop, the reactor effect will update as well.

Monitors

You can connect different types of scopes and monitors at any stage of your effect that will help you refine the process and understand what's going on by looking at it from a different perspective.
