What is P&ID ?

The 2D P&ID flow diagram is the "Holy Grail" of plant design. It is the first step and the most important document in the process chain. All systems and components (containers, pumps, connections) are not drawn to scale, but are represented as symbols. Ducts are represented by connection lines marked with nominal width, piping specifications, identification number (TAG) and more.

2D symbols and geometry

In addition to the built-in symbol libraries (ISO/DIN, ANSI/ISA), you can also integrate your own symbols (2D geometry in DXF or DWG format) or use the "symbol generator" to create specific symbols conveniently and quickly. for your company. When placed in a drawing and/or embedded in a line, the symbols are scalable, aligned with a snap grid, and respond logically. Symbol turning and line separation are fully automatic. "TAG numbers" and other features are also requested automatically.

Component Information

Enterprise- or project-specific components of any type can be entered into the component database. Then, when the component is inserted into a project, all the properties are inserted along with the symbol. "TAG numbering" warnings also occur automatically. All available information is visible in the drawing.

Dynamic Lines (Pipelines)

Dynamic P&ID lines make it easy to design and process pipelines. By automatically separating or closing, lines respond dynamically to the addition or removal of symbols/components. Lines no longer need to be manually reworked. These smart lines allow the flow direction (arrow) display to be turned on and off easily. All symbols that have already been placed in the line progression are automatically rotated when the direction of the flow is changed. The lines can be changed (lengthened, shortened, moved) with the use of "handles". A drawn line becomes a logical channel after pipeline resources are assigned (pipeline number, pipe specification, diameter, etc.). All available information about the pipeline can be viewed from the drawing.

Design Checks (Validation)

"Design Checks" can be used to review individual R&ID drawings, as well as the entire design, for plausibility and accuracy. Included among others:

Checking the flow direction

Duplicate or missing tag numbers

Diameter compliance at the connection point and line

P&ID is the flexible software framework allows quick and easy addition of custom design checks.

Evaluations and reports

Project sheets and data exported to any BOMs and evaluations can be produced from all the assembled project information in the form of symbols, components, and pipelines. The following formats are supported for export and their content is 100% customizable: XML, Microsoft, Excel, comma, or text file.
