What is PolyM?

PolyM finely reproduces this splitting technology while adding a never-before-seen feature: Polyphonic Pulse Width Modulation (per note).

The two octave main divider oscillators can work independently in FREE mode, for subtle to huge phase effects. In LOCK mode, the two oscillators are almost phase-locked, resulting in a phase modulation rather than frequency modulation, when the square waveform gets its pitch modulated by an LFO or any other source.

Unique features, unique sound: A few factors determined the iconic sound of the glorious ancestor PolyM: Two TOD oscillators (Top Octave splitters), with PER NOTE Pulse width modulation, initially used to achieve a large polyphony. A brave Moog designed the 24db ladder filter. A bank of acoustic filters. And finally, a character full of resonator bank.

71 chips...: to occupy the emulation glove, it took more than two years to closely and patiently model these 71 components to finally create the best and most versatile split synthesizer ever made

And besides: because they not only exposed some parameters that were not accessible in the original machine, allowing to dive into the machine and modify it without a screwdriver, soldering iron and electronic components. They also added a more traditional analog VCA, A PLETHORA OF LFO to modulate almost everything, and a trio of vintage sound effects, among other things.

The use of splitting technology offers a specific sound for chords, strings, and pads that you won't find on any other synthesizer.

More from PolyM: With this unit, the power of a monophonic self-oscillating filter of 24db and zero delay, reactivated by touches on the keyboard, offers the possibility of reproducing huge sounds in a way that no other synthesizer can (emulated PolyPedal behavior). Original presets, such as 'Human Vox', are also present.
